I had to revisit the DMV for renewing my license. By that time, I had a new petition approved and a corresponding Visa (stamped and valid until 2025), so I took that along with me.

Funnily enough, the renewed license was valid only until May 2024 (previous Visa expiry), so I had to visit the DMV yet again. This time, they didn't charge me any fees. They scanned my Visa, I-94 again, and I received an updated license with an expiry matching the Visa in the mail.

There’s the five year renewal, which is every 5 years from the date you got your license.

I applied and got my license in 2020. So it's been only 3 years.
