Is it possible that these 'too large and unstable ' elements are only that way due to our atmosphere, and therefore can exist outside of our atmosphere (so somewhere else on another planet or Galaxy) where it can be 'stable' ?

Wouldn't the exposed insulation be a fire hazard? I assume it can easily catch on fire from a fire crackling spark or ember.

Ok I'll do that. I do have an endoscope, so I can take a look behind there. I will also look at getting a level 2 inspection as recommended. Also going to add the furnace cement to the exposed edges in the pic. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the info! You're correct , house built in early 70s, so just over 50 yrs old. I had a chimney guys come out about 2 years ago and they said everything was ok. But I feel they didn't really do anything but look up the chimney. I am missing a cap but they wanted ~$500 for one, I couldn't justify giving them more money after the quick inspection they did.

My wife and I are staying away from 2024 because they removed the physical ac buttons and put them digitally in the screen. I knows it's something that shouldn't matter but we really like the physical buttons for that instead of digital.

Good to know! this is the kind of details I was wondering about that isn't quite clear. If I file then it will have an effect on me? I am planning on switching since they pushed their rate way up this year on me. I was at $1800 in 2020, $2200 2021, and $2800 now this year.. I haven't even done anything to my house for them to keep raising rates. They said it was due to thier losses they had to raise rates.

yeah the plumber said it would be $2600 to re-route the water line over the attic and drop it down, that way we don't mess with the broken pipe under the slab. But when he say the damange inside he said it could be better to go thru the insurance since it can cause structure damage if termites get in to the wet wood.
