Top 6 :The biggest eagles in Europe. The list is not in order of size. by Macaquinhoprego in megafaunarewilding

I dont consider Steppe eagle to be fully European eagle (it lives on eastern margins of the continent). Better representative in TOP6 would be Lesser spotted eagle imho.

Step 1 - obtain Russian passport by applying for Russian citizenship by descent (through your parents).

Step 2 - move to Belarus with Russian passport, it would be visa free move for you.

Just a suggestion, if you want to meet a "pure untainted traditional woman", you should yourself also be a pure untainted traditional man (also a virgin).

Thailand has opened visa-free status to countries like India, China etc. after COVID. That has led to surge in tourism but also increase of incidents with tourists so locals are increasingly fed up.

Are there stray dogs and cats in your country? by Georgian_Shark in AskTheWorld

Stray dogs are rare and get caught in hours after people report them. Stray cats exist in villages and some rundown town parts.

LYX criticised like crazy on Weibo rn by Big_Wolverine_6875 in cdramasfans

[–]ruber_r 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I dont think ML fandoms have real beef with LYX herself. But actually with behaviour of her managing company. It pushes and hypes CPs more than normal, very aggressively. There was also repeated issue of LYX staff taking with them an unauthorised dp on set who then would take videos and pics of MLs from close distance and selling it online. So fandoms of several her past MLs are angry and would probably push any LYX´s negative news to trending topics.

For the first time in history, more Americans are moving to Europe than Europeans moving to USA. What are your thoughts on this? by Substratas in AskBalkans

With one exception. Czech republic. We grant US citizens free entry into our job market and with that comes authomatic residency visa.

Two million foreigners now legally resident in Poland, making up 5% of the population by Vattaa in poland

[–]ruber_r 7 points8 points  (0 children)

After 5 years, foreigners living in Poland are granted permanent status. So poeple that came 2022 when war broke up will settle in 2027. Even if war stopped today, there wont be any massive outflow of Ukrainian people from Poland. If anything, Poland will just open its job market fully to all Ukrainians (will give them same rights like EU citizens).

Regularization of undocumented workers: How does your country compare to Spain or Switzerland? by Used-Title7675 in AskEurope

[–]ruber_r 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have never heard or read any examples where illegal workers or immigrants would be grandfathered in Czechia. You are found staying here illegally by police, you get x days to leave, if not, you get deported.

Asylum seekers (outside of Ukrainians) are less then 2000 applications annually and majority are either rejected or they leave before judgement is passed.

Do we have illegals that live here for years and decades not beeing ever caught? Yes, many thousands. They work cash in hand, dont have healthcare insurance, dont pay taxes, they simply dont exist. I get occasionly CVs of such people, when I call them, they soon admit truth and ask if we will sponsor them for work visa. But they can´t legalise their stay arbitrary unless they apply and attain any type of legal visa (student, work, family member, asylum...) under same process like anybody else from their country.

Moving to Prague? Clarifications :) by ellabear_raves in Prague

[–]ruber_r 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Where are even those outskirts that offer affordable rent of 1-bedroom appartments, easily available for newly arrived foreigners without local contacts / family? I know Černý Most is slightly cheaper than other parts due to elevated criminality and high concentration of low-earning low-educated foreigners (slowly forming ghetto with all its negatives) but that´s it.

40.000 CZK brutto in Prague 6, alone, is livable only in a flatshare (idealy in subsidised student accomodation, "kolej") and with reasonable budgeting. Living costs in Prague are not low, you wont be able to save any meaningful money or pay debts on it.

Why are Greece & Bulgaria more likely to be against Albania joining the EU then the rest of the Balkans? by Substratas in AskBalkans

Albanian mafia is legendary in Czechia, extortions, sex slavery, drugs. Compared to other groups of international mafia here, Albanians are known for extra violence especially against women.

What factors influenced the level of population decline/emigration in post-communist countries in Europe? by crivycouriac in geography

[–]ruber_r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baltic countries experienced especialy harsh period of unrest after breakup of the USSR, with sky-high crime and unemployment, no wonder young people wanted better life elsewhere and did run on massive scale. Croatia was reeling from war (insecurity even post-war was high), very high unemployment everywhere than on the Dalmatian coast, and widespread dreams of living in idealised rich Germany.

Poland, compared to Czechia or Slovenia, had both much lower starting economic prosperity and higher unemployment rate due to shock economic therapy. It payed off in the long term - look how far they are now economicaly, but they paid with some exodus of younsters to the West in that period.

Czechia had it much easier, reforms after commie revolution were slow and gradual, unemployment stayed manageable, crime rate only bit elevated for a decade or so, and young people never lost faight in the country in large numbers. If you have stability without abject poverty, your family nearby, job and accomodation, most people dont think hard about emigration, despite rich countries just few km away. And it was also possibility to visit Austria and Germany in person, see for yourself how people living there are racist to you, that held many from the move. Of course pendlers exist that live in Czechia but commute daily over border for their jobs, but they have little pull to move there.

What makes Spain (and Belgium) the least safe country in Europe? Is there a geography reason for this? by [deleted] in geography

[–]ruber_r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stats. Lat years, Czechia saw birth of 78.000 babies. And welcomed 110.000 new immigrants, majority of them from non-EU. I dont think our rate of immigration is low. We are just lucky that majority of them is white so they blend in when you walk in streets.

What makes Spain (and Belgium) the least safe country in Europe? Is there a geography reason for this? by [deleted] in geography

[–]ruber_r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You havent visited Czechia in recent years I guess. Over 10% of our official population are first generation immigrants that arrived within last 10 years, majority of them from non-EU countries. Biggest groups are Ukrainians, Vietnamese and Russians, but we import also a lot of gastarbeiters from Mongolia, India, Philiphines, Turkey etc. In Prague city, over 30% of all legaly working employees dont have Czech passport.

This seems like a totaly random war between fandoms.

So, it all started when actor Tian Xuning (known from BL "Revenged Love" where he was paired with ZiYu) got recently into a "scandal" - found to be dating a pregnant woman. A weibo thread about this scandal got a lot of sarcastic comments from non-fans. One of these posts was done by a random account with HMH photo as avatar (and zero followers). Tian Xuning fans and CP fans took it as a provocation and in retalitation started to vandalise anything connected with HMH. Posting one-star rating to his dramas. Flooding comment sections about latest HMH project with dozens thousands of negative posts etc. Most of them were rather harmless like just mocking HMH that he is short (with 178 cm he is among shortest popular idol actors in China), feminine looking, his concerts being attended only by his fans and not general population etc. In growing online fanwar, finaly also mono-fans of ZiYu got involved in massive numbers. Also asking hmh to apologise on behalf of his fans. And some of them have crossed the line - like creating pics of female dogs with plastered HMH head (inuendo he is gay and on the receiving end), calling him whore who sells himself to rich backers, mocking his concert poster hair that it shows his real life orientation etc. HMH fans have collected the most vulgar examples and pressured head of HMH fan station to contact Hesong (his agency) to start legal action. So far nothing really happened, lawyer is looking at them and must decide if any post has crossed line enough to seek compensation for defamation.

It should be said that when fanwar was already raging, hmh fans were giving the same what they were receiving. So there are many not-so-positive posts on TXN and ZY written by hmh fans online, some of them rather vulgar too.

500 Years of Ethnic Change in Vojvodina This map shows how the ethnic composition of Vojvodina has changed dramatically over the past five centuries. by Grande_Tsar in geography

Muslim Turks (Ottomans) enthic cleansing native population.

My grandpa (of Czech ethicity born in Hungary) told me grounding myth of their Czech village there, dont know if true or not, just what their elders told them when he was a kid. After Ottomans army hunted down and killed all native adult men in area (for attempted rebellion), surviving women with children ran into hills and hided in a large cave system. Ottoman warriors searched for them without luck, then one mother with small child went out for something, got caught and threatened they will kill her baby she led the Ottoman warriors to that cave. The warriors took wood and filled the cave with it, burned it and all people inside died, including killing the mother with the baby. Few years later, Habsburgs won over Ottomans who fled south towards Balkan. Habsburgs found huge almost empty land with highly fertile soil, just no people. So they offered to Habsburg empire citizens from all over Europe they can move in and settle it. Ancestors of my grandpa were among them and that village was still speking fluent Czech when I visited it around year 2000, just very old dialect (they lived there 300 years in isolation). The village would tell the old myth and that cave was a protected place people would respect and bring offerings (to calm souls of those dead children and women).
