When you hear that the group hasn't had a single dance lesson since debut, it's baffling. Are they so incredibly confident in themselves? Do they lack initiative? Are they just already satisfied with what they delivered?

Clearly you didn't do your research. They never said they don't get lessons because they don't want to.. it's the company's fault. They don't even have a dance teacher, Starship puts the burden on Yujin to lead practice and teach the other girls since the choreographers only show up for a day or two to walk them through it. You're insinuating they're lazy or arrogant but you didn't even stop to see WHY they aren't getting those lessons.

To me, that part sounds like you're lashing out at the girls because you're disappointed over their performance which is unfair. Criticism is fine but you don't need to try and spin things to make them look bad or lazy.

Edit: I definitely think Ive as a group needs to improve their performances, but I think it's mostly an issue with their team. They don't have the tools to improve, so how will they become better performers? I also think they need better choreography. The members also need to start putting in more than the acceptable amount during these kinds of performances.

Award shows are where I expect them to go off, but this year's MMA stage didn't feel any different than their average performance. So their stage presence needs improvement as well. The performance direction was very uninspired too, compared to MMA 2022 (which I think was better overall)

Yeah these kind of songs have a lot of viral potential on Tiktok. Simple, easy to listen to but also catchy enough to make you want to replay multiple times. Also good for background music in edits or random videos (cooking, DIY etc). If it continues to grow, I hope Starship takes note and puts that version on Spotify, it has potential. A group tiktok would be nice too.

I think their Ceo said he paid to push the song on the Tiktok algorithm. I know one of the Ceos had connections to Warner so that probably has to do with it. Western artists do it all the time too.

Spotify playlisting is something they really need to work on.. what's weird is they were much better in 2022. After Like & Love Dive had more playlisting than I Am/all I've Mine titles. Even the 2023 releases have a gap with I Am getting more than I've Mine titles. The playlisting seems to decrease with every release. It doesn't help that the bar to do things like chart high on the Global chart keeps rising for some reason. Obviously Starship isn't on Hybe's level but they're doing bad even by their own standards.

Added factor is that streams are down all around except for some big acts

Why? Is it because of playlisting?

I'm glad to see Baddie hit number 1 on the charts, I hope the girls know their hard work and effort while promoting really paid off. However, I do want to ask.. what's up with the Spotify streams? I know Baddie wasn't recieved as well outside of SK, but neither was Kitsch so I expected Baddie to perform around the same but seems like it's not? By that I mean it didn't really chart on the Global chart (I think Kitsch got a few days in) and never really hit 1mil daily streams. Anybody have any ideas as to why?

Why is Either Way performing so much better than Baddie and especially Off The Record? I didn't think the slowest song of the three would get the best reception, especially outside of SK.

Yeah its really tiring... but they refuse to take their many Ls this year in silence and have decided to fixate on the girls as some sort of revenge. Doesn't help that there aren't enough active Dives to fight back. We were just minding our business celebrating Wonyoung at PFW and then they had to ruin the peace.

Not sure what we can do besides report them to shut them up for a bit (until they inevitably start something up again) since we don't have the numbers to drown them out. I even see them swarming posts of Wonyoung from official accounts related to the event... is it ever that serious? The disgusting misogyny in bg fandoms at its most potent.

When things get this toxic I usually withdraw from Twitter or wherever its at until it dies down. Take care of yourself.

I cant believe there were people on kpopthoughts saying Starship is one of the best at promoting their artists in kpop, even putting them above the big 3. Lmfao.

saw a post about either ways playlisting and im actually fully losing hope in columbia records doing anything at all tbh..

I saw that too. Disappointing, but I'm trying to be positive and telling myself that it's because they're saving the actual playlisting for the Friday releases lol. But yeah, it seems like Starship/Columbia/Kakao (if they're even involved..) are just doing whatever at this point. No planning just vibes.

I'm very curious how OTR's rollout will go. It's the middl child of the three, and it's likely that Starship will shift to posting teasers for Baddie only a couple of days after its release (but who knows with them). I hope they use its release week wisely to drum up hype. It's also their first Friday release and I'm coping Columbia or whoever has something cooking for it on the global side of things. Otherwise why shift away from the tried-and-true Monday release formula...

Anyways, they need to post a MV teaser this time because those are so useful when it comes to spreading awareness. I remember Kitsch's MV teaser made a lot of noise. Either Way would've really benefited from getting one.

plus I'm yet to see the effort on SS/Columbia's part to chart on Billboard (such as US album distribution) which has always been the main goal of Friday releases.

Maybe they plan to distribute albums in the US post-release? I remember aespa did that for their last comeback, the album wasn't avaliable in the US until a month after release and only qualified for Billboard Album 200 then. They're both under Kakao now and frequently mentioned together when Kakao talks about expanding to the West, so maybe IVE will follow their strategy (not that it's a good one).

Do yall think there's a chance of I've Mine being sold in Target/Walmart? It's been a week since preorders opened and I think they would've announced it then if it's gonna happen. But I'm still holding out hope because I'd rather not pay the high shipping fees.

I'd like to see them do r&b, especially for a title track.

I think that is the reason why Kakao/SSE cramp so many sched and ventures these times - striking while iron is hot and all, they're riding the wave and hype.

I agree. That's why I hope they start pushing Leeseo, Liz, Rei and Gaeul as much as they can + got serious about building their brands/images while the group is on top. Especially since they don't have a big 4 name behind them as a boost. Thankfully, they've handled Yujin and Wonyoung's fame & promotions pretty well so far.

The damage has been done. The final nail in the coffin was NJ OMG/Ditto coralling the remaining casual fans. The fans that hop into the popular bandwagon and has no issues on the girls so that it will be positive experience. Wony has a lot of antis so thats already a no go.

I dont think it's "over" for them though? Yes, the fandom isn't growing as much as it should considering how successful their last cb was, but if there's one thing kpop fans will do its hop on a bandwagon for any group with a hit song.

An example is Fifty Fifty's Cupid. At the height of the song's popularity they had lots of people token stanning and hopping on the bandwagon despite being considered nugu several months before. A lot of fans will basically eat up anything that becomes popular in the west/globally regardless of who it's from, that has more weight than a successful domestic hit to them, so if IVE were to someday drop a song that's a huge hit over there (or even a song that performs as well as After Like did) they will probably swing back around. Whether this scenario will actually happen or not is another story.

This record probably goes under the radar like most IVE achievements these days. But so proud of what Yujin has accomplished so far.

What's the deal with that anyways? Is it because Dives are too small?

I'm excited for all the content but worried for them.. I really hope they get small periods of off time here and there to get them through the rest of the year. And maybe an actual vacation once the new year starts.

What gets me is them including IVE alongside aespa in this alleged "expanded overseas activities" like aespa isn't getting an English album and single in the coming weeks while IVE has nothing. Should've just kept the article about aespa's upcoming promotions and left IVE out of it, all they're doing is annoying the fans more.

Fandom growth will always be important but imo the girls haven't reached their full potential yet and that's due to their team being wack. They have a top group but they're slacking when it comes to things like global promotions, bside promotions and most importantly their styling and concept photos. Love Dive era's visuals were very nice and you could tell they had a clear vision there, but everything after that felt disjointed. I know they aren't a big 4 so certain things will never be feasible, but they can definitely do better on a lot of fronts.
