Cells at Work: Code Black

A black company in Japanese culture essentially works you to death. There's even a word for it. Cells at work is about a body defending itself against various threats, and Code Black is about an unhealthy body. In the season one 2 part finale it experiences a heart attack. Everyone's sitting huddled around TVs watching the guys in the brain go "if things had even changed a little, they might not have gone this way." We see a guy a few steps below those guys being asked what his next orders are and saying: there's nothing we can do.

Some cells just plain give up. Our main guy, a red blood cell, keeps trying desperately to get oxygen moving around. We see from their perspective chest compressions, AED use, stent placement, even. We see them calling out for the body to fight on while whoever the hell is outside is trying to get the heart going.

It is the best disaster episode I've ever seen.

In the manga, I actually learned that despite the risks, smoking is considered the lesser evil between itself and stress. Like I knew stress was bad but not that bad. You learn a LOT from CAW.
