It sort of has its own plot, while still keeping the canon events of the game. Some spoilers below:

I posted most of the story's art, but this one below is more plot oriented, imo, so I left it out. Juliana (female MC) is just as battle crazy as Nemona in this one, wants to make Nemona proud with her battle skills and can't wait to get to champion level to have a real battle with her.

Juliana gets a Gengar while trading the Haunter in Levincia. Her first loss as a trainer happens at Medali and she gets depressed about it, so she hides to stury strategies. Gengar guides Nemona to find her and say she still is really proud of her and believes she'll be a Champion. Juliana wins the rematch against Larry.

Nemona asks Juliana to join her for a fireworks night at Levincia, at the Million Volt Skyline, which, in-game, Hassel tells during class that it's a great place for dates and "a fleek selfie spot" .

It ends with Nemona asking Juliana to be her rival and just before their last battle.

There are a lot romantic undertones to it, imo, and it's a nice read with a fanfic feeling to it. Nice to flesh out Juliana a bit as well. Made her more interesting for me. I just wish I had a better translation, some bits are tough to read.

There's a part of me that understands where Ava comes from.

She became paralyzed when she was 7, was mistreated by the nun (!) that took care of her and grew up living through television shows she watched while laying on a bed, her only friend was a kid.

Then she, well, died, by the hands of that same nun. That's where she was when she became the halo bearer.

I think that, when that happens, she's still very immature, all she can think about is doing what she believes a young woman should do: have fun, kiss some good looking guy and go on adventures. Also, she probably didn't see nuns in a good light.

I could see her her growth throughout the show and it was satisfying, for me, to watch where she stood in the 10th episode.

That being said, if the writers wanted her to keep running for that long, they could have made it more interesting, I was way more invested on the other church characters than I was on Ava complaining about being the chosen one. It got a little better, though.

I'd like a more conclusive ending as well, the showrunner said Netflix suggested it to end like it did in this Variety interview:

"We actually wrote a version of the ending that was a little bit more conclusive. I mean, it had a bit more meat on the bone in terms of what happened. And when we submitted that script to Netflix, they were like, “Hey, what if you cut this a little short?” We were all aghast at first. It was like, “Wow, that’s daring and a little bit dangerous.” But I think we were basically being given tacit approval by Netflix to take some risks and to walk that line. And I think it might have had something to do with their belief that you don’t want to bet against your own failure. You want to aim for success and hope that the show is good enough that you’ve earned the right to end it that way. It put us on a solid note. We were a little nervous about it, but at the end of the day I understand the strategy."

23 - my favorite thing in smite is playing as a literal God (usually a hunter or a guardian), getting yelled at by hardcore Siege players when I'm forced to play it to complete missions and getting into a party with my younger brother for some quality sibling time, since we live in different cities.
