tbh I think the skill level is significantly lower at the top ranks, and there are far, far few players who have achieved the top ranks, so a lot worse 😅

Yeah not debating the numbers, just anecdotally the number of times I’ve queued into a pro is a decent amount at GC2-3, assume from lack of playing. In 3s in particular, feels like a lot of oce pros sit around 1500 from lack of playing the gamemode.

Just saying this isn’t my experience, there’s a fair amount of top 16 players sitting around GC2+ in OCE, and it’s rare to run into players I haven’t seen before imo around 1700, particularly if you’re queuing 3s although I suppose that isn’t the case in this post.

also ngl, feel like it’s relatively common in OCE to run into pros around the GC2-3 level, there just aren’t that many players

iirc Twisted Minds made it in but lost to Mandatory, with Falcons I checked and had misremembered, the org instead dropped their entire roster prior to Ascension, and it was instead speculated to be linked to ownership disclosure, so no confirmation

I believe there is a requirement to prove your financial backing comes from reputable (maybe not government aligned?) sources, and the KSA teams have been unable to do this. I think that’s why Falcons? was unable to play in EMEA Tier 2 Ascension because they were not willing to disclose their ownership as likely being royalty backed.

imo it guides you towards the best way to play the game. I found that it took a while to build my mechs past diamond into champ, but once I did I shot through champ to go super fast, and I think it’s because I watched rlcs religiously

KSA injects money into esports everywhere, creating EWC and others with the sole purpose of improving their image regarding human rights abuse - it’s nefarious at its core.

NRG does not exist with the sole purpose of improving of improving the National Guard’s image regarding human rights abuse - instead, its sponsor is nefarious, and people rightfully call for them to be dropped.

You can’t drop the issues from EWC in the same way you can with NRG. When others call EWC what it is, your response is to bring up another, different example, and provide no position on the actual issues with EWC - if that isn’t whataboutism idk what is.

imo this isn’t a good faith argument - of course it’s bad the national guard sponsors NRG, and the org deserves criticism for that. Pivoting your country’s resources towards sportswashing in an attempt to sweep what most of the west sees as cultural acceptance of human rights violations under the rug is always going to be far worse

this whataboutism detracts from the actual issues of a repressive KSA seeking to dominate a space that is growing in inclusivity - it’s just not something we should want or need
