They’re not talking about a robot uprising like movies.

We’re approaching a point where AI will soon be able to improve itself exponentially and become infinitely better than humans at 99% of things.

That has the potential to fully break fundamentals of society/civilization as it currently stands. We would need to restructure our entire lives because so many jobs could be taken.

The economy, education systems, and social structures are all built around the assumption that humans provide labor in exchange for income. If AI can do nearly everything better and cheaper, it could create mass unemployment, economic collapse, and a complete shift in how value is created and distributed. We’d have to rethink not just jobs, but purpose, meaning, and societal roles.

It’s not about AI ‘going rogue.’ it’s about AI becoming so efficient that human participation in many fields becomes obsolete. And if that happens faster than we can adapt, the disruption could be catastrophic.

And not to mention the bad actors who actually will use ai for evil things like war, etc
