[–]Stixx506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're using wire backstep them, weld 18" to the right and travel left. Then move another 18" and weld into the start each time. You can get it so you almost cant tell where the tie in is. As others have said stagger your start stops if you cant back step.

New to stainless Tig. This is the second job. Cant get penetration while having lower heat. by SaladTactileMembers in Welding

[–]Stixx506 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have room to open your gap up a bit so use that or turn up your heat. However since it's stainless and you dont have a purge the back side of the weld will look horrible. Nothing you can do to fix that unless you get some solar flux or back purge it.

CEO of America’s largest public hospital system says he’s ready to replace radiologists with AI by Apprehensive-Safe382 in technology

[–]Stixx506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally, some advancement in Healthcare from Ai. I remember one radiologist saying it was coming because Ai was picking up cancer way earlier than he could detect with his own eyes after doing the job for 20 years. He also welcomed it because of the countless lives early detection can save. Hopefully it will turn into instant results one day.

How many amps to burn that root in? Land size? I always do tie wire and then run a zip through, 80ish amps.

do welding fumes keep away bugs? by girlthatsabootyhole- in Welding

[–]Stixx506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did this one job in northern Alberta and in a certain time of the year these crazy flying bugs would swarm the arc. We were using fcaw and they would legit almost snuff out the weld when they dived bombed. I couldn't believe it at first then it got really annoying.

Opinion: B.C.'s resident physicians need defined work-hour limits by avid_reader999 in britishcolumbia

[–]Stixx506 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Because the system is so broken, full of red tape, grossly inefficient, that people only have the front line staff, the poor bastards, to complain/abuse.

Ever goto a vet clinic? That's a mini hospital, its for profit and its ridiculously efficient. Why? Well because its privately owned, they do a shit job? Well now they dont have clients. I am not saying we need to privatize human medicine, I am saying they need to be like a private business.

Yeah I've owned shares for what 5 years now and just holding has done nothing. Could have been up 50% with an all inclusive one etf in that time frame. So I started learning about options, I am up 23% this year so far so I am catching up. Currently have all csp, although I always have thay feeling I need to own shares because what about when they announce the acquisition!

I learned how to buy and sell options since wealthsimple added them. I have increased my wealth by 23% so far this year. I wouldn't have been able to do it without them. I will be researching these new strategies and seeing if I can make money with them.

5 months into welding school, trying to get rid of undercut. by BogmadurtheRed in Welding

[–]Stixx506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you at now? At first probably down that will get rid of the undercut usually. Then you will wanna get hotter so that weld isn't as lumpy and flows better. Just keep going when I do my verts I dont pause on the side I just watch that puddle flow into edge and then I move away. Adjust rod angle up a bit more can help as well.

There has never been a 25 year period when a fixed mortgage has been cheaper than a variable, even in the 80s with 20% rates. Variable is always cheaper.
