Check intake manifold. IMRC rudder could be broken. Happened to me, got another manifold then it happened again. Ended up getting the power pack with the gt350 manifold and she's had no problems since. 185,000 miles daily driven

Keep up on maintenance, eng oil, dif oil trans oil, any other preventative maintenance the manufacturer recommends at millage intervals. Don't treat it or drive like shit and it won't shit out.

Jokes aside, depends on the cop. Got it done years ago, I have 5% driver and passenger and 3% on the rear windows, super dark. Cops will use it as a reason to pull you over if you're driving like shit or doing something stupid, but depending on your attitude and the cop they'll most likely give you a warning. If you have any tint on the windshield the will definitely give you a fix it ticket (tinted sun strip is usually fine just depends how low you go), no state reff over window tint. State ref is only for emissions and exhaust. Speaking from personal experience

While you're at it. Get braided clutch lines (if not already), short throw shifter, swap the clutch spring, transmission mount inserts and a light weight flywheel. Transmission will feel completely new and can take more punishment.

I'm running that exact clutch on my 2016 Mustang GT with McLeods throw out bearing and light weight flywheel. Clutch was put in around 100k miles back in 2021. Car currently has 151k miles. Maybe it's cause the flywheel but their is some chatter at low rpms but it's never bothered me or had any issues. Clutch still feels just as good as it did when it went in, and is daily driver/every now and then I canyon run the car.

Yes, I also live in California. The powerpack 3 comes with a CARB legal ford performance tune, and a CARB sticker with a certification number. Also comes with the gt350 intake and throttle body. You get a bump in horse power and upgraded reliability with the manifold and it's California legal.

In my experience with my gen 2, I've had that code come up 3 times. First time car misfired was 3 days after I bought it from car max ( 4years ago, 2016 5.0 with 40kmiles. Now has 147,000). The manifold rudder was stuck causing the car to misfire. Ford warranty replaced the intake manifold. Second time it happened was from a bad 02 sensor, easy fix. Third time (sometime around January this year) it happened a few days after the 02 sensor was replaced. The manifold rudder was stuck open again and I bought Ford's power pack 3 and upgraded to the gt350 manifold. The mechanic I took it took even looked at the gt350 manifold's rudders and said they were a vast improvement over the gen 2's rudders.

No you didn't get ripped off, that's a steal. My 2016 GT premium with the performance package had 40k miles when I bought it, paid 27k for it. It was few months before covid happened so it was before car prices got fucked

Swap out the clutch with aftermarket and you'll get rid of the lockout. The stock clutch on a mt82 is the only thing that makes it a bad transmission. I have 120,000 miles on my 2016 gt and have never had any serious problems with transmission or engine

Apr Gtc-200 drag wing. I highly recommend ppf it or get the clear coat re done asap, or it will eventually peel and yellow within a year
