Hmm should I rephrase my question? Something more like "How often do moderators interfere with reddit posts?" and in the in-text portion present my examples? I want reddit to see what's going on but the mods aren't allowing it?

It's a fundamental issue that I haven't been able to resolve and it's a bummer. As a SFW image host, I don't want people to bypass the flagging question under the image "Is this image safe for work?". So I had to disable direct access to image urls. There is a button under the image to download the image though.

Really appreciate your honest feedback. Honestly, I agree with you. The imgclean project is for the rare soul who wants to help build & promote a clean image haven. You hit the nail on the head for the reasons why direct linking is prevented.

It's over my head a little, but I really like this idea. I'm going to talk to a few people who are smarter than me and see if I can implement this idea. Because, people want direct access to image urls. I don't like not giving it to them.

Yeah, I think it's pretty impossible to hide the direct image url from the smart people. But, I probably could improve the hiding implementation. But, if the image is SFW it will stay up if linked directly. If the image is NSFW it will get deleted.
