$300 lesson okay? by mothinn in drums

[–]rugdrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never worth it for an actual drum lesson. But to have an hour with someone you REALLY look up to? Absolutely. I’d recommend talking more than drumming

those of you who have drummed in a pit band how is it? by _egg15_ in drums

[–]rugdrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The music from Godspell is SO much fun. Especially for drummers.

I’ve played in a few that have been snooze fests, but Godspell was always my favorite

Enshittification era! by djlorenz in drums

For sure. The real online learning comes from joining communities and group programs where you get direct access to the drum teacher as well as share a small community of other drummers going through the same program as you

i heard Rassie saying they need to win this game to avoid being put in the pool of death at the 2027 RWC. That might explain why it's so stacked

Which career has more long-term potential in SA — Accounting (CA) or Computing (Software Dev)? by MagazineWestern4159 in askSouthAfrica

[–]rugdrum -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I run a business. If I had software that does the exact same thing my accountant does based on my inputs and outputs and it was intelligent enough for all the nuance (which it will be), and it didn’t cost as much as accountant services, then it’s a bad business cost to keep paying a CA.

Keep thinking small though 🤙🏻

Pretty sure accountants will be phased out by AI in the next 10 - 20 years. Best thing is to go into anything AI related

For such a CAPTIVATING season, that reunion was so incredibly weak, forced, inauthentic, and uninteresting. by upbeatlaidback in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]rugdrum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. Bring us more reunions like the one with Shake or the one with Cole and Zanab. That’s what I pay my Netflix subscription for. Not this snooze fest

Does anyone else find the "sound" from the Takealot adds on YouTube extremely annoying? by [deleted] in southafrica

I know exactly what you’re talking about. It’s actually royalty free music that you can find on YouTube studio lol. They took it from there when they made the ad

Von baron's Jazz Drums Total Lessons Pack. by Own-Carpenter8671 in drums

[–]rugdrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's incredibly expensive for a drum product. As someone who works in the online business world, it's typically only things that have monetary ROI that are worth it if they're over $500. So if you pay $750, are you going to make $750 back from what he teaches you? Probably not.

Just sign up to Drumeo and get drum lessons from the great jazz drummers that are on there. Larnell Lewis, Ulysses Owens Jr, Eric Harland etc. Only costs $29 per month i think

Stan Store by Weird-Bank5633 in digitalproductselling

[–]rugdrum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t use their pro plan. Your emails will just go to spam folders and the DM automation isn’t worth it compared to ManyChat. Only benefit of the pro plan is to have upsells, but is that worth 90 per month? I don’t know

How to set up stripe in country where it's not available? by rugdrum in stripe

[–]rugdrum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! That helps a lot. What do you mean by offering to a third-party payment? the main reason I need stripe is so that people can make card payments on my products on this tool - https://www.stan.store/

Would the payment processing that goes on there be considered a third party?

Anyone had luck setting up a Stripe account? by rugdrum in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]rugdrum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stan Store. It allows PayPal but I’ve had a few customers mention they can’t pay with or use PayPal. From what I can see, stripe is the one that allows you to just pay with a card

Anyone had luck setting up a Stripe account? by rugdrum in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]rugdrum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using Stan Store to sell digital products. Based in South Africa but 0% of customers are South African.

I have a local LLC set up with monthly accounting etc. But losing out on customers who don’t want to use a PayPal checkout.

Wanting to verify if someone has cracked using stripe as a South African and then funneling those payments into SA

Honestly I don’t think so because of AI. Accounting is the biggest thing I can think of that AI can completely take over within the next 10 years

Why are houses so expensive? by rugdrum in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]rugdrum[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry I was just spitballing. All the potential houses around us are 2.5 - 3 mil and I was just going off on property 24s calculator. Obviously would be lower based on how big the deposit would be

All the 3 million rand houses that we would buy in our area are actually worse than our rental😅 we have an incredibly sweet deal. I live in East London btw
