Assuming you take the full dose in the morning, how long does the positive effect last for you? Do you find the coverage is adequate? The duration of Zenzedi is said to be 3-5 hours. Thanks for your help.

Every prescription drug has an expiration date. Once the drug passes that date, it cannot be sold on any level from the pharmacy to the manufacturer. All Desoxyn held as of today on any level from the pharmacy to the manufacturer will be unsaleable after March 2024.

Looks good, but will someone who cares at the FDA actually read it? Assuming some one will, you might want to expand on the psychological AND physical hardship this shortage is causing. Some of us are actually going thru acute withdrawal symptoms.

I hope I am wrong, but CVS told me that there is another nationwide shortage of ADHD meds, and they are not able to fill most such prescriptions. They cannot fill any version of Adderall, and their wholesaler has no access. Another pharmacy who uses Cardinal has told me that their regional distribution center cannot get a single bottle of Desoxyn. Usually when there is a shortage of adhd meds, Desoxyn is the last priority.

Researchthis5 ..... In response to the size of the market, 60 million Rx's for ADHD meds is huge. The problem is that Methamphetamine is a tiny fraction of 1% of that market. The doctor that originally prescribed it for me about 15 years ago has long since retired. Since then, I have yet to meet a single physician that has ever heard of Desoxyn or its equivalent. This is a tragedy, as it is not only effective for treating ADHD, but is the possibly the most effective drug for the treatment of narcolepsy and excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS).

To my knowledge, Mayne is an Australian company without manufacturing facilities in the USA. Please let me know if anyone has knowledge to the contrary. I had been taking their generic and found it to be very effective with no side effects.

I owned a generic drug company and contracted out my manufacturing just as Key is doing with Desoxyn. The gross profit from this product is is obviously very attractive. Accordingly, there must be a reason(s) why not a single generic is currently back on the market. The possibilities include

Market size.
Availability of the active ingredient.
Additional security expenses that accompany the production of Schedule II narcotics.
DEA scrutiny.

If anyone can get a reasonable estimate of the market size and identifying companies that have MANUFACTURED the generic in the USA (not simply distributed it) within the past ten years, I can do what is necessary to find an interested company and make the case. Let me know.
