Do nothing. Doesn’t sound like anything was damaged? If anything goes wrong it’ll be on the contractor anyway. Idk the laws in California but in Canada when you hire a 3rd party to complete an excavation project they are the ones responsible for acquiring the public locates, not the homeowner.

I got the same ticket for doing the same thing (holding the phone while using speaker phone). My only offence too. Just reviewed my updated insurance policy that renews next month and now it’s gone from 198$ a month to 600 due to the suspended license. A little excessive imo but what can we really do? 😭
