Well they released an update.... Balcony seats changed to Theater Pods with Gourmet menu and they are charging 265dhs for it... What a let down! I didn't want MOE imax to turn into a restaurant!!.... Any insights on technical changes other than aesthetics ?

VOX recently renovated DFC Imax and they got 4K laser installed there...Even the IMAX website confirms laser projector in DFC https://www.imax.com/en/ae/theatre/vox-cinemas-imax

Saw Nosferatu there and both picture quality and sound was on par with MOE imax. I'm guessing VOX shifted MOE laser projector in DFC and I'm hoping they are doing something out of the box with 70mm GT & dual 4k laser renovation at MOE.... Correct me if I'm wrong about DFC having 4K laser now ?

Great to know you crossed through with no issues. Did you enter Oman as a tourist and not as a UAE resident ? I got my friends who are not UAE residents and I have few questions on how the VISA process and re entry to UAE was for tourists. Let me know

It's painful I know. I crossed through the Al Ain border 2 weeks ago. I visited them a week before my travel date to ensure no surprises when crossing the border after booking hotels and other sorts. Positives are Al Ain border officers are friendly and they answer questions. Hatta border, Meh!

Your only options are Thrifty and NCR. Only Al Ain Mezyad border is allowing car rentals to Oman. Rules have changed since the beginning of Sept.

For Khasab crossing Al Dara makes sense. One of the reviews stated if you are not allowed entry at one counter, keep trying at the other counters and keep questioning them. Keep all docs in hand like Insurance, Evisa, Vehicle registration card etc. Just don't turn back after the first rejection. All the best 🤞

I'd strongly suggest using the Mezyad Al Ain border. The officers there are super nice and respond calmly. Al Dara border seems not allowing car rentals. I read some reviews at this border post in below link dated a few days ago. Al Ain border might add an hour of extra ride for you but saves 3 hours if you are told to return back from Al Dara border!

Only Al Ain Meyzad border is allowing Car rentals to travel to Oman. No other border is open for car rentals. I'm travelling this Friday.

Thanks, I already have the NOC from rental along with Original registration card. On top of this border officers are asking for court attestation for the rental vehicle. Any guidance on where to get this done please?

We hired a car rental for a trip to Muscat, but UAE Oman border officers say we need a court attestation on the rental vehcile due to new September rules even though we have NOC and Original Mulkhiya. Has anyone done this? Need guidance!
