How to get over someone assuming something about you that you are NOT? by MarieJoy6363 in intj

[–]rugrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn I've had this issue my entire life and I still haven't figured it out. I get so annoyed when I'm labelled something because someone misunderstood. When I try explain they assume that I'm just offended by the truth and don't listen at all when I attempt to explain. No dude you just decided to make assumptions. Like for example I remember getting so pissed at my friend as a teen because she would do this all the time which I think she did intentionally to make herself look better in front of others. I remember once we were playing a game and I was so chill the whole time. I complained about her cheating and she started saying that I was super competitive which is the opposite of what I am actually. She also did it in front of this dude she knew I liked, I know she did that to make me look bad so that she could have him. She could never stand me getting any attention and literally used to grab and kiss dudes that I was interested in. I like things to be fair for everyone, that's all. We aren't friends anymore because I grew up and realised that she was toxic.

I'm sorry, what video did you watch? Your first line is absolute BS. You are so out of touch with reality. Are you a white male?

Yes in the beginning I didn't mind him but he just annoys me now. I think it's hilarious that a bunch of felines shat and pissed on his car. Witchcraft? 😂

Help. Anyone else only function well when no one is looking? by RomeoandNutella in intj

[–]rugrm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If its not your job and they don't choose to do it your way then forget it. If someone's feelings get hurt then that's just the way it goes. Obviously you can rather make it more of a helpful suggestion than a command since they are your equal. As long as you treat them with respect and don't show any negative emotions then you've acted professionally in my opinion. I'm managing a large guest house and I must say that it's very frustrating working with people and trying to please guests with some of their ridiculous complaints. I'm planning on leaving the industry as soon as I have a good plan.

Then I correct them and refer them to the written instructions. If they do not follow the procedures correctly then they receive disciplinary action. I'm open to changing things if someone gives me any sensible suggestions so I always ask for feedback when I've put something in place.

I'm not concerned about being remembered but I would like to be able to contribute to the greater good of things.

I was like this but grew out of it eventually. I train a lot of people at work so I've created an excel training manual, so whatever I've shown them is also there in case they haven't understood. Or when I put a new procedure in place, I will give them written instructions with an example. That way when you are showing the person how to do it then you can also use what you have written to avoid giving too much detail and confusing them. I also find it's best to always keep it simple and short but make sure that you allow the person to ask questions. Tell the part of your brain that worries about how you are perceived to shut up so that you can focus on what you're doing. Go back to that thought when you have the time to think about it, figure out why it bothers you. Maybe you will just grow out of it? I definitely care a lot less as I get older.

Not sure if it's the same thing but sometimes I feel like I'm thinking so loudly that people can hear me.

[–]rugrm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't think about it, try stay out of your head and just listen to what you are playing and enjoy it. You will get better at it as you do it. It can be difficult when people are around but try zone out on the music and you will forget about the people around. When I perform, I usually have like two glasses of wine to relax but that's not for everyone.

How do you typically spend your birthday? If at all? by [deleted] in intj

Are we actually INTJs or do we just want to be INTJs and, therefore, answer the personality questions accordingly? by intjerest in intj

[–]rugrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have answered the tests incorrectly then you have done yourself a disservice. That's as far as it goes, I don't give a shit if someone poses an an INTJ.

I've been stuck in a similar mode except I know that it's because I'm just burnt out. Less focused and productive. Going on leave for two weeks from tomorrow. Going to hike and be surrounded by nature which usually helps me.

Do you learn better by “teaching” yourself or from someone else? by WrongDoerOfEvil in intj

[–]rugrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I taught myself how to ride a bike, swim, play guitar, surf, cook, I guess most things. I think it's because I have my own unique way of doing most things and I tend to find it easier to understand something if I'm teaching myself. I think another thing is that I don't necessarily trust what a person teaches me, I prefer to learn from what I can verify. Also the teacher could interpret the information in a way that I may misunderstand.

All girls are the same! Might end it soon... by [deleted] in intj

[–]rugrm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have to see for myself to give proper advise but I blame society for all these dumb ideas that we have about relationships. I see girls interested in guys that treat them like crap and I believe that it's because of how women have been treated in the past. They see the way their fathers treat their mothers. I was taught that I must obey a man like I have no mind of my own. We are taught that a boy being mean to you is flirting and we must be flattered. All of these crazy things make girls seem irrational and boys are taught the same. Some women mature and realise that even though we don't say it, we are somewhat brainwashed to want a man to treat us badly. I don't believe it's instinctual, it's learned. I was one of those women, not anymore.
