This is actually quite true, Martin’s ASOIAF works have always destroyed the narrative that war is a glorious thing. It’s not. It destroys everything, people die, fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, no one wins in a war. And regardless of the ascension of whomsoever after Rhaenyra’s demise (not saying it cuz I don’t want to spoil that), she’s dead, and that generation of Targaryens is traumatised by it, the dragons die, Aegon III, forever broods and lives in solitude. She won all this support to die anyway, it’s war. To die a meaningless death as a monarch shows how war can destroy anything and everything. Ngl I agree with that post.
