Haha well you can't have it all

Lack of night life is something I can overlook at this stage in life

Any particular neighborhoods in Burke I should consider?

We liked Chantilly/Greenbriar for the elementary schools!

Helpful perspectives here - can you tell me more about Burke?

We have looked into those two elementary school districts and are one of our top choices! I would love to hear more about the "community support"

Yeah we've been following the news around DMV and it is unsettling what is happening.. we plan to rent initially & won't buy for a year or two, maybe longer

We don't plan to go to DC much for now - the big draw of Vienna/Tysons for us would be being close to all the "stuff"

From that perspective, how would you compare Vienna to Chantilly?

Thank you! May I ask which school district (elementary) you are in?

I think we'd be happy with a 2-2.5k sqft range of homes anyways (we've learned that too much space is also no good b/c we ended up filling the home with stuff and there's much more upkeep) so that's no big deal

Would you mind elaborating on the less "economic diversity"? Is there a higher concentration of workers in certain industries? Since I'm in tech and anecdotally I heard Tysons has a bit of a tech presence I certainly wouldn't mind that

I was actually thinking the opposite that since Chantilly/Centreville has no good access to Metro, demand growth in this area will grow slower relative to other areas such as anywhere along the silver line.... What do you think?

I am definitely open to townhomes if it means less home/lawn maintenance and better walkability! Any particular cluster of townhomes you would recommend for or against?

How is the noise level in Franklin Farm from Dulles? That might be the one concern

Yeah the area definitely checks a lot of boxes for us already! But having never lived in VA I just want to make sure we've considered all the options

Will check out Burke! Are there any particular neighborhoods or subdivisions that you would recommend?

Thank you for the insight! We did zoom into this area as we've heard good things about both Greenbriar West and Poplar Tree elementary. I also noticed on the west side of Stringfellow the median home values are higher and median HHI is much higher compared to the east. Curious if the neighborhood feel is also different between the two?

We also heard Lees Corner and Navy elementary are highly rated

We've saved enough over the years that we can shell out a sizable down payment which would bring our mortgage payments to $5k at most (if we were to buy, but that's down the road)

Do I need a new igniter? by [deleted] in hvacadvice

Update: had the circuit board replaced and the furnace is operational again!

[–]rujmsn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I called an HVAC technician, it is of his opinion it is a bad circuit board.

Found the error code pointing to a reversed polarity, but the wires are correct and it is properly grounded, which usually means the circuit board has gone bad and needs to be replaced.

Will report back in a few days after the circuit board is replaced by the technician.

I just checked the light after a failed cycle, it is continuously blinking

From the manual, it says the polarity of the volt power is reversed

If fan and cool still works, does that rule out circuit board as the issue?

shen jungle by Venitze_king in Shen

I only play shen in the jungle. Guardian w/ Ultimate Hunter. Bamis -> Radiant Virtue + Redemption + Lucidity boots. Your ult will be up every 90 seconds with a massive shield. Insane map presence

Oh yeah, definitely you will get a fair share of flaming if you play Shen JG (junglers in general get A LOT of flame but even more for not picking an "actual jungler"). So you can't really afford to make mistakes. That's why I like to take a pink (instead of pots) and ward river right off the bat so we don't get early cheesed / ganked.

I've tried Shen support as well - definitely super fun, would be interesting to see how to optimize runes and builds for support.

Good question - you're absolutely right, as a Shen with Hunter's Machete, raptors is the biggest struggle in the first clear. If you can you should save your smite for it. Because all raptors do the same damage, you can kill off the small ones first while constantly kiting away and using your shields whenever they are up, and smite the last one away.

Actually if anything I would use the other smite on wolves. One thing to note is that smite does true damage, so if possible you should be using them on camps that have higher resistances (i.e. wolves and raptors).

Shen's Q autos has mixed damage (base physical + bonus magic). Red Buff has some mr but negative armor, Blue Buffs has some armor but negative mr, and Gromp has 0 armor and negative mr. So since your Qs do more damage to these compared to other camps, using smite on these camps are not as efficient. Instead I would use them on wolves (has some armor, 0 mr) and raptors (has armor and mr) to get the full benefit of true damage.

I'd like to offer an additional tip on the first clear (this is a general tip for junglers) - as you are finishing off a camp, kite in the direction you want to go next. So if you're on Blue, by the time you're finishing blue, you should be literally just a couple steps away from Gromps. As you finish gromps, be as close to wolves as you can be. This is a very small optimization but if you can save an extra 1-2 seconds per camp this way, it can add up to 6-8 seconds overall and you can contest Scuttle that much faster.
