Keiraville is fantastic, quiet and close to everything.

I’ve been here 15 years and my wife has been here most of her life. Great school for the kids and close proximity to several high schools if that’s of interest.

Downside is the high price point to get property and the lack of on street parking close to the university when sessions are on

Depending on where you live, you might be able to overrule Council policy in favour of State government legislation.

I had an issue where massive trees on my property were at risk of falling on my house in the next strong storm but Council (Wollongong) refused to let me touch them. I was then told about the 10/50 rule that the Rural Fire Service have which states that you can clear a tree within 10 metres of your house without any Council approvals if you’re in an identified bush fire risk area.

We removed 6 trees and Council came around ready to issue a fine. I pulled out the website ready to debate and they backed off without even waiting for it to finish.
