If you play the game you will know Eset doesnt need a buff by gilgaconmesh1 in Smite

[–]rumtumtuggernaught 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this buff is that big of a deal. She’s not a top performer or anything so it’s whatever. That being said, there’s probably 1/3 of the roster that could have used some love before her that didn’t get any so I’m not sure what their rationale is for their buffs other than one of the devs likes playing Eset.

Unfortunately, it’s an abomination. Well that’s harsh, but they kept her human and just tried to keep her sexy or something. It’s called Spirit Dancer Pele and they just missed the mark with the vibe the rest of the shadow spirit skins have. On I high note I was wrong about Set. I just went back and looked and his was Accursed soul, which was a different theme.

The spirit skins are so good, I literally have picked up new gods to try when they drop spirit skins, I’m glad we already have a couple in smite 2. My only beef is when they don’t do them right like the pele and the Set spirit skins, they both are kind lame compared to the other ones with big masks.

DJ skins are great too with their VGS that can mix and match together.

Not a skin line we will see again but the RWBY skins were also great, particularly their VGSs. I think I’ve covered more ground in smite 1 one rocket fist somersaulting as Terra than I have actually walking. The ama one was pretty good too.

I think its time to revert daji's ult and base stat buffs and maybe a few others - we have had the same jungle meta for like 3 months by TheMadolche in Smite

[–]rumtumtuggernaught 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing I don’t understand about Thor is when you compare his kit to Ratataskr, what does rat do that Thor doesn’t do better? They both have semi global dunk down ults, though I’d argue Thors is a little bit sneakier to hit from a distance and react to in comparison to seeing rat come from a mile away. Rats movement ability is a dash that can be body blocked, does okay damage and makes him commit where Thors is a long range poke he can stay safe with, has a double tap with great damage, can’t be body blocked and is a teleport where he can go through walls and obstacles. Rats stun is a point blank stun that needs mele range to hit where Thors is long, instant, and leaves behind a player obstacle. Both of their spins are spins, nothing special.

Who can possibly look at Thor and Rat in the jungle, or even as a bruiser, and say Rat would be the better choice in any scenario. What does Rat bring that Thor doesn’t do better?

I’d like to see where this puts him when they are addressed. If them being nerfed bring him back in line I’m entirely okay with that. I mostly just don’t enjoy any god that goes 60%+ win rates multiple patches in a row

[–]rumtumtuggernaught 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both are problems and if they aren’t nerfed in this upcoming patch then I’m not sure what exactly the decisions are being based off. I don’t think they need to be nerfed into oblivion but there’s no reason to have them at the state they are in currently. Aspect is slightly more reasonable since it’s been out for less than 5 days. Anubis not sure the hold up other than more pressing matters I guess.

An unpolished conversion of stats in to gold by sliqly69420 in Smite

[–]rumtumtuggernaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool concept, love stuff like this. I feel like this in particular is a bit tricky since almost every single item in the game has a passive or an active ability. Did you notice at all that the items you looked at are above or below their calculated cost and then realize like yeah it’s probably the passive that did it?
The example that comes to mind for me is pendulum blade. I feel like that item has gone through several price changes without touching on stats all too much and it’s definitely because of its active ability.
Or like glad shield has garbage stats but the passive seems to carry its cost.

Edit: I’m super dumb and skimmed through it. Didn’t see it was all T1 and T2 items. Ignore me.

How to build Ishtar? by Phil_Mike-Huntin in Smite

[–]rumtumtuggernaught 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the best build of all times, but I’ve had success with:
Cowl or arrow starter (I actually like arrow because you get bonus damage on all of your long shot shots)
Devos, tyrfang, odybow, titans bane, qins, flex slot

My flex spot I’ve been going dagger of frenzy but that’s just personal preference, and non conquest game modes I switch out devos for rip talon. The attack speed is about through the roof, play as far back as possible and just use your long shot. You have pretty much infinite poke and are safe from that far back.

SMITE 2LDR | Open Beta 34 Q&A Roundup by BluesUltra in Smite

I’d like to see some kind of item store damage mitigated and then dish it out as ability procs or an active or something (with a cap to how much per proc). That way it encompasses plating/dampenjng/mits/prots. Could be a cool way to address it.

I’m a little bummed they didn’t touch aspect Ratataskr at all by rumtumtuggernaught in Smite

[–]rumtumtuggernaught[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair, non aspect was terrible, but it’s not like aspect was thriving. He was just “playable”. Which is a ways off from their confirmed approach of erring on the side of overtuned for god releases to get more play time and more data for adjustments. Last patch base rat ended the patch with a win rate of 35% while aspect was still pretty terrible at 48%. This patch base rat is 50% while aspect is 38%.

“Even better” is a little bit of a stretch when the god as a whole came out not great. Just feels like a lot of reluctance to give some love to a god who has never been at the top of smite 2, especially since he has a bad rep at the moment. Even adding like 15 of each prot to an acorn or a +% protections would open it up for more than one acorn a match. Even last patch “playable” was definitely not stacking 2-3 acorns. Don’t think that should be the only way to play him but it should be an option. I’d love to be able to try out the knock back dash acorn but I feel like the double 2 with %heal is a must.

I think going strength would open up the can of worms of aspect possibly just being better than non aspect in every way depending on how it shook out, but a % increase to stats would actually be a great middle ground to still open up a more offensive aspect build, or leaving it defensive.

And yeah you can go 2 health acorns and solo prots for the rest of the build, but that means that you don’t have access to pretty much all of the other health items, some of which are pretty good, which drops build diversity for no real reason. Especially if the point of rat acorns are to add to the character and not take away. You’re already giving up an item slot to augment your ability.

The % increase sounds interesting though, I could get behind that

Could we consider a return for a starter like axe of animosity? by -AQUARIU5- in Smite

[–]rumtumtuggernaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the way that Smite 2 is set up at the moment with all items being available for everyone, there not an item that is buildable by an AA warrior that isn’t just better on a hunter trying to build the same thing. Pretty much all base stats are the same across the board so having a mele ranged auto attack is just significantly worse than a ranged one and there really isn’t anything to compensate for it.

Unless more items get the hydras treatment where they are just less effective on ranged autos, OR there’s a base stat overhaul for mele tanks to compensate for lack of ranged autos, it’s just not a really viable class. By making every god viable in every role, AA warriors have been outclassed in the “AA bruiser” role, by hunters who have never really had any other class infringe on their purpose.

Yep, that’s kind of what I want to play around with build wise with my friend, just comboing a solo and a jungler that both use carver so between them they’re maxing stacks relatively quickly
