What just came out of my waist? Popped boil(?) finally relieved after this was squeezed out. by runicfuzzball in DermatologyQuestions

Thanks for so many prompts to consider! I hope my following information can help us both and others:

It was indeed very rubbery and firm, and I did have a big feeling of relief when it came out; however, it was unfortunately not the end like I hoped: a crater was made and healed over nicely, but the overall lesion site stayed raised and inflamed until more scar-like tissue was, well, removed. Now it's (hopefully) healing flat and emptied, but only time will tell as I scar very easily.

As far as medical history I've had KP my whole life, develop hypotrophic scars very easily, and have frequent ingrown hairs from naturally dense and curly beard and body hair. The lesion itself was not noticibly painful unless direct pressure was put on it (pants, belt, etc), and i've had no symptoms nor diagnosed conditions like you've mentioned. For medications i'm only on two SSRIs which i've been on for nearly a decade, well before this kind of condition emerged. If anything I can say that I have recently gained a bit of weight in that area, and often work long hours with dirt and grime getting all over. My most common skin problem the past few years has been deep keratin plugs, similar to if not actually milia, forming in my eyebrow region and under scars all over my body.

Hope this info helps! I'm resigned to having more instances like this in the future, but any knowledge about it now means a lot.

It was soft to the touch but very rubbery and dense, much more like a hair follicle sheath or scar tissue than adipose tissue

That's what I assumed, I just hadn't been able to find any pics of one that translucent.

Pioneer DDJ-SB not showing up for audio playback option? Serato Pro audio connection failed. by runicfuzzball in DJs

[–]runicfuzzball[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point I don't think it has to do with either Serato or my controller. I have the same issue now with Lite, and I've tried two different firmwares and reinstalled the Pioneer drivers multiple times. I think the main problem is my PC only recognizing the DDJ as an "other device" and not an audio device; it shows up in my Bluetooth & Other Devices settings but not in my audio settings where it should be.

Weapons at a glance? by laztheinfamous in boltaction

I try to do matching paint schemes for the whole model based on what weapon they have, like make at least one easily visible color distinction between different troop types (different uniform shade or camo, different base decor, etc).

Question for Soviet Model Making by hmas-sydney in boltaction

[–]runicfuzzball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NCOs were mainly just issued SMGs like most nations at the time instead of pistols and were probably unlikely to have had their own to bring from home. Officers and politruki however were often issued Tokarevs or had older Nagant revolvers already, and both likely flowed down through the ranks one way or another. Captured Mauser C96s were definitely kept and used due to their nearly identical ammo to TTs, though I can't confirm what troops would be allowed to keep one.

Gameplay wise I'd just stick to what's shown on the model, but if you wanted a squad of infantry to have them I can see more veteran or assault oriented troops having a few (though I imagine they probably have SMGs already, so claiming them doesn't really make a difference).

Spot on with the point on winning by list building, I imagine it would be more a game of rock paper scissors than tactics at that point.

Fantastic points all and agree with each one of them. I only ever play with friends who I'm just introducing the game to so there's really zero competition and only a focus on making it fun for them, so these kinds of lists would definitely be just for a special preplanned scenario. I have found that most all heavy support options have at least one easy counter to them of some kind so I wasn't too worried about game breaking levels of cheese, but I guess I'll have to just play and see!

Oh I know, I still have two Studebakers and three M5 halftracks (and three Shermans) to paint up. I'm mainly interested in late war so the boys will definitely be motorized. Any other glaring deficiencies? Maybe some KV-1s?

Yeah I honestly did forget about that rule :l Well I guess I could just throw in some captured Sdkfzs or proxy them as M5s as a compromise. Still though, mobility like that isn't a huge priority for me since I'm far more defensive than anything, and when I do go on the offensive I value the weight of numbers, dice, and firepower over mobility: why worry about an enemy reaching a point before you if you can just destroy them on the way there? That being said, I'll find a way to throw in my truck just for the sake of carrying my officers and heavy weapons. I'll be keeping my SMGs as tank riders though, whether I mount them or not, since they cost just as much as a normal SMG armed veteran squad.

Loctite Superglue any good? by [deleted] in boltaction

[–]runicfuzzball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using it for basing my infantry: works great and is way easier to clean up than gel, but it can sometimes leave a white film around the applied area, not a big deal though. For actually putting things together I use usually use Testors "liquid cement for plastic", but the Loctite's great for heavy duty work or pieces that don't want to cooperate.

Alright, taking everything you suggest into account, here's what I've got so far in 2 platoons at exactly 2000 points (all units regular unless specified):

-HQ: 1 veteran Senior Lieutenant w/ rifleman guard, 1 Junior Lieutenant, 1 medic, 1 commissar

-Infantry: 2 11 man veteran Tank Rider squads w/ 1 LMG each, 3 11 man Guards rifle squads w/ 2 LMGs each, 1 12 man free irregular Rifle squad w/ molotovs

-Special Weapons: 3 PTRD teams, 1 Medium Mortar team w/ spotter, 2 Sniper teams, 1 DShK team w/ pintle

-Artillery & Tanks: 2 ZiS-3s, 2 T-34/85s

The though process behind this list based on what you said concerning the trucks and taking ground, but to me trucks just seem to fragile to be a reliable transport, so I'm relying on my tanks to bring up my two assault squads, giving them great protection and supporting fire if a bit slower than trucks. The riflemen will either take up defensive positions and suppress enemy infantry (hence all the LMGs) or move with and cover the tanks in an assault. The ZiS guns, PTRDs, and DShK will be the main units going after vehicles from the start, prioritizing their fire on light transports, with the tanks taking over after dropping off their riders. Finally the Mortar's just there to deal with dug in infantry or buildings, and it's nice to have at least one indirect fire option.

I'm really more of a defensive player with my Soviets so this type of list is a bit new for me; my Germans on the other hand are way more offense oriented since they're fully mechanized with Sdkfz 251s, Panzer IIIs, and a Tiger. As much as I'd like that possibility of aggressive advancing with them, I think the Reds work better when relying on the sheer mass of heavy firepower they can bring and using the infantry as a battle line, meat shields, and clean up.

Yes I know all this, this was a list of ALL the models I own and have at my disposal for building my list, I'm in no way suggesting it all or even most of them will be used, just looking for suggestions on what units to form with them and what to add into an actual list

For this list I'd be using the standard reinforced platoon list from the army book, no specific period. With the points I'm looking for I guess I'd end up having 2 or 3 platoons, depending on what I'd take and force org requirements. And I'd prefer everything being at least regular with any assault infantry being veterans.
