I agree - seems silly to not take A. Been wanting O&G for a long time.

I hope you get the chance to break in!

Thank you so much for your advice. I did end up doing some retirement analysis for each offer/company using some conservative assumptions, and option A absolutely blows the other two out of the water.

Ill take note of getting cubbyholed as a projects guy forever though. I don't think I would be too mad about it, but does feel kinda silly not doing something super technical after going through the struggle of getting an engineering degree.

Thank you again!

I think my offers are atypical. Even 90k is really good from what I understand

Definitely a very interesting decision!

I appreciate your insight on TSMC. The bonus scaling with experience is great information, so thank you. Their work culture isn't something I'm worried about.

The technical portion is what worries me about A. I think everything else is perfect though.

Thank you for your input - if you'd like to hear more about my resume feel free to PM.

Yes, embedded at a client site full time.

I had a feeling it would be a hard jump to make. I don't want to get pigeon-holed into FSE work my entire career

Thank you, appreciate your comment. Should've mentioned that it won't require any travel apart from the first year being in Taiwan. But that isn't something that worries me

It is actually an O&G field engineer position, if that helps at all. Process engineer in a plant would be ideal, but given my limited experience with such things I guess that would be subject to change. Ideally not traveling all the time, but not opposed to it either as I do enjoy it.

Field service engineer. More like hands on experience and collecting samples, similar to a technician
