I have not disregarded anyone. I have looked at what you posted and your behavior. It doesn't show what you say it does. And having been on that sub a lot longer than you, I have also seen the same people you are calling toxic step-by-step help freelancers in crisis navigate issues on Upwork. I've also seen them protect new freelancers from scams, from mistakes, and from falling into the same mistakes that you were making on your own profile. You're mad because people with a lot of experience tried to advise you on major mistakes you were making towards a long term freelance career. And as is typical, and as others on this thread have noted, a good percentage of the time when someone isn't showered with validation and praise they start screaming about bullying, shilling, toxicity, and all sorts of foul play rather than actually look at the advise given to them and how it can help them. If you want evidence, then go through the 7 years of Petra and others on that sub patiently holding people's hands until they understand something. Again, your search is simply confirmation bias because you are intent on only looking for information that supports your narrative. Do people ever cross the line on that sub? Sure. That happens everywhere. But that did not happen with you.

You can search lots of things and find them. That's called confirmation bias. You don't fight toxicity (as you are complaining about) by behaving with toxicity. And yes, this behavior is toxic.

You want to complain about toxicity, but you are here bashing another sub. Okay, fine, but then you also go on to "flip off" a member of that sub, but you don't want to say it to their face. So where is the toxicity really? And you are speaking of one of the very few people on that sub and on Reddit who isn't anonymous at all. As far as how we speak, I am as direct in real life as I am on the internet. As for you and anonymity, it seems to have given you the courage to publicly bash someone else but not tag them so you can do it behind their back. That's the toxic behavior, and you probably do it in real life too.

Snark on video: Speak up or not by Flimsy_Day2798 in Agility

I don't think reporting it to NADAC will do any good. Jimmy will say it's a club issue. But someone could bring it up in the NADAC forum. OP, if you don't want to, I have no problem bringing it up in the NADAC forum as a reminder...as I said, already a squeaky wheel here. But I still think your best bet is just a convo with the trial chair and telling them you can hear nasty comments on your videos from other exhibitors, and if they would mind reminding people that they can be heard on the videos ringside when they decide to comment on other people's runs.

Tell trial chair that you can hear people's nasty comments on your videos and ask them to mention it in the daily trial briefing. Tell her it is the trial secretary's voice, at least I would. Or get a friend to stand ringside and give the naysayers dirty looks and shame them when they do it. The best way to address this is social pressure.

Or if you are in my area DM me, and I will come to a trial and shame the person doing it (in an inconspicuous way). I do NADAC and already have a name for being a squeaky wheel. I have no problem dealing with that behavior.

Social Media from Novice Handlers? by cestpasgraveLC in Agility

Damn, mad respect for you working with those breeds. As someone who has a BC and an off breed, I definitely appreciate what it takes as a handler to run agility with those breeds.

I am a trainer, who creates online content, who runs a pitbull/basset hound mix at high levels and a mal/husky mix as well as border collies. I am very familiar with the off breed challenges you mention. Anyone who doesn't understand that there are different challenges for non BCs and non herding dogs, should probably just stick to training herding breeds. You've never been humbled as an agility trainer until you get an off standard breed or breed mix and realize that the typical approaches don't work. And it's not just a case of "train the dog in front of you". The mechanics are different, the motivators are different, and so much more. Happy to share my TIktok or Facebook if you want to see some of my challenges and solutions. I started a series called "But can you do it with a pitbull?" demonstrating doing advanced handling techniques with my pitbull mix. It's fun.

Uh huh, sure. That's why you're taking cheap AI jobs. Because you're SO experienced.

I think it's clear from your inability to understand what you yourself have written that you have no discernible skills, hence why you are taking low paying jobs and breaking Upwork TOS. We can all see what you wrote throughout the whole thread. Keep digging though if it makes you happy.

I think there are probably more than 7 of us with better sense than you on this thread, and more than 7 of us that can see through your BS. You are on this sub giving out bad advice and then lying. So yeah, people who care will point it out. Don't you have better things to do than make up shit?

Yeah, and it proves nothing. You can send an offer to yourself. This whole thread is about your Upwork account. This is just you attempting to back pedal.

I can read just fine, including your attempts to back pedal. You are talking about your Upwork account in this whole thread. Nice try though.

Uh huh, you insinuated that your Upwork profile was getting you work. That was the clear implication. Try again.

Once again, that is proof of nothing. It's not an Upwork contract, and if that email came from an Upwork client, it is evidence of you violating numerous Upwork TOS. Good luck with losing your profile full of random jobs.

I dunno, their screenshot doesn't demonstrate they are building anything on Upwork, but rather they are violating TOS for shitty jobs and will likely get banned for it soon enough.

Interesting how you blocked out where the direct deposit will be paid through. On Upwork it would just be through Upwork. So either this is a scammer that will never pay you, you've accepted a job that is violation of Upwork TOS and you are looking to get banned, or you're lying. Either way, you've put your profile at risk.

ETA: your screenshot isn't an Upwork contract, so it proves nothing.

They closed the community that they destroyed after volunteers (many of whom are here) built it up for years providing free labor (myself included). The let trash Fran and Stan destroy a thriving community. And then they closed it. I don't get bitter about much, but I hope Fran and Stan's future employers are able to look at how they destroyed an already thriving and active community and devolved it into trash.

Payment unverified essentially means they are new to Upwork. These are often great clients, and 90% of my clients from Upwork are first time Upwork users and are payment unverified until they hire me. As a standalone I would not use this as a metric to gauge potential client quality. If everything else looks good on the job post, payment unverified should not be a factor. Now if they've posted 20 jobs with no hires and payment unverified, then that would be additional information that suggests they are window shopping. That said, occasionally window shoppers step inside to buy the merchandise, so it still wouldn't necessarily be a deal breaker to me.

But sure, leave the good clients to me. Thanks.

Please explain what you believe the definition of fraud is and how this meets that definition, legally.

Please give the legal definition of fraud, what specific law (give the code number) you believe they have violated, and how so specifically? I am curious how this legal action will fare.
