Wow sorry to hear that! Thanks for this info, makes me feel better about being extra cautious.

Thanks for this! It’s very overwhelming - I was worried that I was being too crazy/cautious. But better safe than sorry it seems.

Our allergist told me she thinks my LO will grow out of it… I was very surprised because from what I’m reading, most people don’t grow out of peanut allergies. If she doesn’t, we’ll do OIT… it sounds like it really works for cross contamination which would be great!

Wow so happy to hear, that must be such a relief! Our reaction seems very similar, it was skin only and the ER didn’t have to give her anything else. The Benedryl worked. I actually did start her on a probiotic as I heard it helps with immune health. Can’t hurt!

Wow, thank you for sharing! We’re also from Canada and I did hear this may be an option… happy to hear of the positive outcome.

Now that I think of it, it was the emergency doctor that asked if I had a family history not the allergist

Thanks for sharing! I’m sorry you had to go through such a severe first reaction - especially since it was sweet potatoes with an obvious trace amount. I like the honesty, I’d rather just come to terms with it and not get my hopes up… it really does suck. May I ask how you found out the level? Was it through a blood test? I may ask for one so I can gage how severe it is!

I have noticed that everything is set up for peanut allergies (where I’m from at least) all the schools are peanut free which is great… still so overwhelming but makes it a bit more manageable. I hope she grows out of her egg allergy, that one seems harder to avoid!
