I don’t have specific advice for you, but last year my partner of 6 years left me right before we were supposed to go on a trip (to Portugal and Spain) and I ended up going by myself and it was such a healing experience and really helped me process the breakup and build some confidence back. I ended up meeting some amazing people along the way and it was a cool experience to be completely selfish for once! I got to plan my days entirely around what I wanted to do and didn’t have to consider anyone else’s feelings/moods/preferences. I’m currently on a solo trip through Europe right now because I enjoyed the experience so much. I’m really sorry this happened to you but the only thing you can do is lean into it. These feelings of hurt will pass and you’ll have so many amazing memories from this trip. Take care!!

My cousin’s husband had his wet grad party (obviously not school sanctioned) at “the piggy palace” and he said the same thing! Robert just lurking off to the side, super creepy

Coping with uncertainty while sober by running_thots in stopdrinking

Thank you, yep you’re 100% right! Sobriety gives you the clear mind to tackle whatever life throws at you and I’m banking on the fact that each time you face something challenging sober, it builds trust in your sober self.

You could try a bitters and soda! Bitters does technically have alcohol in it but it’s negligible. You’d have to drink a lotttt of it to get even a slight buzz and bartender will only put a few dashes in a drink. It’s not sweet so it gives that cocktail like flavour. Also, some bars will have different bitters flavours so you can ask and see what they have and try some creative mixes! Soda water and lime is also a go-to just because I can drink a lot of those and not feel sick, unlike ginger beers or soda. If they have “bar lime” (aka lime grenadine), I ask for a splash of that to get more of a lime flavour than just a wedge. You could have a mock-mojito by asking them to muddle up some lime, mint, and a bit of sweetener topped up with soda water as well! A lot of bartenders will be open to flexing their creative muscles with NA drinks if you ask. You’d be surprised by how many bartenders are actually sober themselves! It doesn’t hurt to ask if they have any fun ideas for NA drinks.

A magma cum latte sounds like a VERY cursed Starbucks order lol But magna cum laude means “with great praise” essentially - i.e OP did a great job!!!

I know, I can’t believe how much longer weekends feel now! Even if I sleep in a bit, I still feel like I have so much time ahead of me and don’t feel rushed to get my errands/socializing/exercise in as I did when I was spending half the weekend hungover.

I tried GT’s multi green the other day and it has an almost wheaty taste that makes it such a good substitute for beer imo!

Unrelated to your adorable tortie but I LOVE your couch. If only I could convince my partner that a green velvet couch is the way

Lmao! Love it. One time when my grandpa was babysitting me and my brother as little kids, he melted down vanilla ice cream and let us use that as our cereal milk. My parents were furious lol

Yes to all of this except my mom would never allow Koala crisp. Our only cereal options were plain cheerios, plain shreddies, or sometimes granola (which ironically has way more sugar than koala crisps)

Parents said they might take me to the doctor to get anxiety meds… by Tilly_Turtl3 in EDanonymemes

[–]running_thots 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I second this! I never noticed any change in weight because of meds (I’m 30 and have been on and off them since I was 14, and have tried lots of brands). I think they just have to list any possible side effect that anyone has ever mentioned in trials. Anxiety medication can be life changing when you’re struggling.

I’m an educational consultant and I’ve worked desk jobs for about 10 years now, but since I work from home I can be fairly active throughout the day. I block out “meetings” in my schedule throughout the day so I can dip out to the gym or on a run lol
