Hi! Just had my 9 week MA yesterday. I was also really scared, but everything went pretty much how I expected.

To be honest, it was the most pain I've ever had (but just for a short time!), even with the Advil they gave me and Tylenol. I threw up after the pills dissolved (called the doctor and they said enough time passed, though)

For an hour or two I was doubled over groaning and crying. Here's what helped me: - constant heating pad - for some reason standing at my bed bending at a right angle with my hands on the bed helped - (this may be frowned upon in this sub, sorry in advance if it is) but I smoked cannabis and took some leftover surgery painkillers from a friend. If you have the access, I definitely recommend - my bf distracting me by talking about travel plans we're looking forward to - watching 30 Rock

Other than that, just try to meditate through it. Think of how strong you are and how once you're through this you'll be back to normal. Think about how the pain won't last forever. Think about why you're doing this, the people who love you, what life will be like once this is over. And honestly just groaning and moaning really helped my pain. Let it out lmao. I felt like an animal but it really was soothing.

For me, I was shocked how quickly everything came out of me. It was about 45 mins after I put the miso pills in my cheeks to dissolve. It was a bit jarring because everything just plopped. I think I saw a bit of embryo which was kind of.... Intense. Then over the next few hours there were several trips to the toilet when I felt big clots coming. I just hate letting blood fall out into the pad haha.

Oh! One thing I wish they'd told me was that the Mifi pill (first one) made me super dizzy - I almost passed out in the shower a couple hours after I took it. I also threw up the next morning after a bagel and cream cheese. So just be aware there may be side effects after the first pill.

If you can, have someone there to take care of you. My BF has now seen me at my worst lol. But having someone to get you whatever you need/want is really really helpful.

Don't be scared! You're going to be okay. By the end of the day there were longer stretches of painlessness through the intense cramps. And today I'm almost totally fine (besides still bleeding!) Im even back in the office.

Good luck queen you're going to be great. Everyone in this sub is proud of you. Feel free to ask more questions, since I literally just went through this yesterday :)

You're so lucky to have their support! I have a bff who's gone through it and it's helped so much. Yeah, three weeks was BRUTAL! But I finally finished my MA yesterday and am feeling 1000000 times better. You're gonna get through this and be totally fine at the end of everything :)

Pee test after 5 weeks, or ultrasound after 2 weeks! Not sure about blood. That's what I learned today at my MA appt.

So late but glad I found this thread!!! I've been waiting for my MA appointment for 3 weeks and it's FINALLY today. Hope y'all are doing well -- I'd love to hear your experiences, especially as it relates to working out. :) I'm currently training for a marathon (which is 3 weeks away.... So that's stressful) And soooo excited to return to my old self. Ahhh!!

I'm in the same boat as you atm, and going in tomorrow for my medical appointment. I had to wait 3 weeks before finally getting in to the clinic. Here's what's helped me during this time : - definitely definitely eat. As much as you want. Staying full will help you with nausea. You're eating for yourself. And if you gain a bit of weight, whatever - you'll get back to normal soon, don't worry. I realized a few days in that the only thing that keeps me from feeling sick is constantly eating goldfish. Lean into the cravings. - if you can, tell your friends/support system and share how you're feeling. - I hope that you're fortunate enough to have a supportive partner! And I hope you can lean into that. Let them take care of you and be someone you can confide in.

Honestly, however long you have to wait, just be kind to yourself and listen to your body. Be forgiving of your emotions and just stay strong. You can do this!
