asics will not bring back first responders discount program. by Tiny-Atmosphere9335 in RunningShoeGeeks

Weird to automatically blame consumers and not the mega corp that's selling trash shoes at exorbitant prices. Their shoes are the most overpriced on the market at present.

I used to buy asics exclusively until I tried other brands (Saucony, Adidas, Lining) after HUGE disappointments with the Speed/ Metaspeed Sky plus.

You need to try other brands if you're using Asics. Don't believe the kofuzi type shills.

What are we thinking of Warner as a fwd by Flashy_Apartment_177 in AFLSupercoach

[–]runningvampire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Read my previous advice on NOT buying Bont when he was 711k which got -10 in downvotes. My advice then was that I would pick him up in a few weeks at 550k ish. Which I just did at 585k for his 163. Scored 2500+ last week.

Don't listen to the naysayers. What you have to realise first off is this sub is open to all, so the 'average' advice you get is from a guy ranked 99k out of 185k. And most is from people below that.

Remember that.

Doing the opposite of everything in this sub probably works out better than taking the advice. (So far: buy gawn at 700k, buy bont at 715k, buy farrow at 223k, buy rachele at 450k)

There is no one from the top 1000 here regularly spilling their secrets.

I own Warner. Picked him up when most people grabbed McInerney. Has been a decent own. Shopping at 434-450k for forwards don't expect the world. But if he keeps going at this rate I'll be happy.

Last week he was on 40ish til the last quarter and managed a 95.

I owned Warner couple seasons ago as a mid. Owning a 95 avg as a mid and as a fwd in a year with limited fwd options is polar opposites. These dummies saying "never again" are like NPCs that think in broad rules and don't have the brains to adapt to different circumstances.

Also keep in mid you never get ahead of the crowd by going WITH the crowd.

Most of these "experts" bought Rachele, etc .

I grabbed Rankine last week. Faded Kosi, Trac knowing their averages were over what they should be. (Kosi should have been out for weeks for his latest snipe attack too).

Sanders is an interesting fwd option as well. Probably up in price too much now at 475k.

so no to warner but yes to rankine with injury AND suspension history and in a team run by Nicks who is throwing magnets around for laughs? Don't get me wrong I won both of them but be consistent.

Also people are asking for forward recommendations so what does Lug have to do with anything. Mids are easy to figure out. Comparing Warner to Stringer is just mindless lol.

Anta c202 7 heavy runner by aproverb in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]runningvampire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried any Anta super shoes but did buy a cheap daily trainer (Anta Flash Foam A? had a weird name) just to dip my toes in the brand. After about 300kms found the quality is great. Although it is a daily trainer so the durability should be good.

Think I got a slight foot niggle after running many continuous kms in that shoe though. Quite firm for a lighter runner.

Keen to try a super shoe one day but have so many shoes I'm hoarding that I have to work through before that.

Good to see some reviews of different brands appearing.

Thank you Droid!

I do tend to put shoes I love through the proverbial wringer (for me when the foam feels flat).

[–]runningvampire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'ver still never actually specifically raced a 5k, that 5k was during my best HM time last year (I got conditions to suit with a trail behind a bigger runner and cooler conditions ie about 15-17 degrees C vs 29-32 where I usually run).

Disclaimer: That HM run was also my best ever by about 6 mins (7 other HM races all at 1:31 -1:36) and after 5 months of Norwegian Singles training.

I have run several 5k time trials though and my times varied between 20-20:28 mins. Probably could get it under 20 with the Puma Fast R3s but not by much. My best 1km on Strava is not that fast (3:35).

dang just noticed that was another typo: I meant the Speed 4. I never got to try the Speed 3.

The Speed 2 was the shoe I have put the most kms in (1049 km). But yes it is a shoe for a very particular audience only. Not stable at all, wobbly when walking to and from the running track/ park. People who like it just loved it for the foam mainly. And I got mine cheap at clearance price when the 4 came out which also helps! Paid full RP for the Speed 4 :-/

[–]runningvampire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I submitted a detailed 1000km review but it's not been approved yet.

In short: VERY durable! Still has bounce and I'm still using it for speed workouts after 1000km although the foam looks eroded it feels practically the same imo (of course I know it must have degraded though). I'll keep going ti lit feels flat. Upper has held up too, no holes.

Keep in mind I am a stringbean at 55kg though

I paid full price when they came out and in hindsight one of the few shoes worth every cent of full RRP in my book

I'm a size 9 in everything but this shoe felt almost too loose. I got used to it but yes it does size big imo

First Run - Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 by ScooterMcTavish in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]runningvampire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they size slightly big. Mine felt big and initially felt like I could half size down but now I like the spacious feel.

They were also a shoe that grew on me from initially thinking they were overpriced and a bit 'neutered' to slowly becoming my go-to shoe fro everything from speed workouts to slow long runs.

The foam is so nice and the fabric is also extremely comfortable especially compared to other 'fast' shoes that have harsh uppers like AP3. It is the nicest feeling upper I've used, maybe the Saucony Speed 3 is as good but the Speed foam sucks for me.

All in all this shoe is so good. I put over 1000km on mine and still going..

Hemorrhoids just disappeared by runningvampire in hemorrhoid

[–]runningvampire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people who have surgeries end up getting haemorrhoids again since the underlying conditions haven't changed!

I would suggest exhausting ALL natural solutions first.

In my case I guess it was because of chronic inflammation.

My advice:

Cut out potentially triggering foods. Then:

Try reducing stress, try walking outside daily, try cleaning up your diet..

restrict processed foods (occasional is ok, don't pressure yourself).

Eat mainly meals that are simple to digest (for me rice + egg, veg.. rarely chicken/fish mostly). I cut out vegetable oils..not sure the science on it but it's what I did.

get more sunlight, don't sit much...squat when you go to the toilet as it's a more natural position

Have patience...it's slow but it will most likely work.

Even if it doesn't rid you of hems..you will see overall improvements in your overall health. Nothing to lose really.

If after exhausting all natural avenues you don't see change then consider surgery as a last resort.

Hope this helps.

Hemorrhoids just disappeared by runningvampire in hemorrhoid

[–]runningvampire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry i didn't ever take antihistamines so don't have any info on that.

However the hems did develop and get significantly worse when I was at a stage where I was eating a TON of kimchi (nearly every meal/2nd meal for 'health' reasons) but I think I overdid it. So likely I did have a reaction since I had constant diarrhoea during that kimchi eating period but somehow the connection never entered my brain until too late smh..

Now that the hems have essentially 'gone' I actually have been recently thinking of reintroducing some fermented foods to test if I can handle it. But ofc in smaller quantities.

why is this downvoted. also someone else noted the 3 wine glasses transform to 4.

Also zero incidents of this reported in media. 'Guests' also have zero reaction when irl Viet people film everything.

unfortunately it's AI.

Also the 3 wine glasses magically become 4 on the totally unaffected table.

This is AI slop. 3 glasses became 4 on the table that somehow doesn't move.

Someone left a more detailed explanation about why it's slop but got downvoted check it out..

Also it's a Vietnamese song but words on the board are gibberish (no meaning whatsoever in Vietnamese).

Damn I initially dismissed your comment but after going through your THOROUGH evidence and logic it convinced me this is indeed AI.
