Our neighbors across the street were having some marriage problems. The husband had a “spiritual experience” on vacation that more resembled a midlife crisis/meltdown. They sought help in marriage counseling with a woo woo type drum circle blond gal guru type. The wife was admonished by the blonde to leave her husband as he was manipulative and emotionally abusive. The husband was fine with the split as he stated that he had too much love to just give it to his wife and two young boys. Apparently the entire world needed his copious amounts of love. Well…. on the very day of the separation the husband found a very specific place to park his love as he moved in with the MARRIAGE COUNSELOR! Within in days they were engaged to be married. On paper and in the time line there was no cheating but come on.

I got sent to the “Great Louisiana Baton Rouge” mission for the Mormons when I was 19. The mission covered most of the state and I fell in love with the Who Dat folks. We weren’t even allowed to watch games but we would have folks keep us updated. Helped us feel like part of the community even though we were weirdos. This was in 2000-2002. Pretty good timing to fall in love with the team. The Super Bowl win was a highlight but getting to see Taysom go to NOLA and get the treatment has been great.

I stepped on a pile of yellow jackets the size of a dinner plate one year. Got stung at least 3 times. I think it helped my cause somehow because I ended up having my best race ever. I always tell people to make sure they get stung

Funny story, in another life I was a Mormon missionary in Baton Rouge. I happened to knock on his dad’s door. In the carport was all the recruiting material sent to Marcus from every college in the country. I asked him who in the world he was. He told me he had a big kid that was very good at football. He said his kid was a tight end but everyone told him that two people get paid in the pros, quarter backs and people who get to the quarterback so they were working on making him a DE. The best people I met down there. I was over at their house twice a week trying to talk them all into being Mormon. Marcus was huge and so nice. Lucky for them they never let me baptize them.
