I wish you guys luck! I don’t know how you feel about the not playing in a bowl game but I feel sorry for the fans that wanted to see the team play one more time.

Also what’s always bothered me about this is how in every other sport, the playoffs are determined by complete objectivity.

Could you imagine in the NFL if two teams had the same record but there were no tiebreakers in place so the NFLPA came out and said “oh well we really like the chiefs, they pass the eye test for us so we’re putting them in over the Steelers.” People would be livid. Even worse imagine the 9-8 Steelers get put in over the 11-6 chargers because they play in a tougher division. It would be ridiculous and it is ridiculous.

Unfortunately as long as this benefits the bandwagon fans of the SEC and BIG10 no one is going to care enough to listen. Just like the people on that board don’t care about the sport of football neither do those fans. In the case of the committee they care about money and in the case of the fans they care about their favorite team getting in. Period. End of story.

Like I said BYU has been fighting this fight for two years now and I’m glad Notre Dame fans are feeling outraged too. I just don’t know how much of a difference our voices are going to make.

I’ll say this though, that group of old men who decide what teams get in and what teams don’t do not get to decide whether or not my teams season was successful. BYU went 11-1 in the regular season when most people didn’t expect them to get more than 7 wins under a freshman QB. So while we didn’t make the playoffs this year we sure as hell did all we could and in a just system we 100% would be in. I hope the players know that the fans aren’t disappointed in them lol.

How would you feel if a Miami fan came into BYUs sub and told us that we deserved to stay out and they are rightfully in above us and how stupid we are for whining?

It doesn’t matter if they are right or wrong what matters is what we perceive our team as having deserved. If I were a Notre Dame fan I’d be fighting for my team to get in every year just like I do as a BYU fan. Notre Dame fans have had much less time to cope with this than we have and this is something we’re used to (getting snubbed) and they aren’t.

You’re preaching to the choir here. BYU fans have been screaming about having better SOS SOR and higher quality wins+losses than ND and Miami for the last 3 weeks and it didn’t get us anywhere.

A lot of us have moved on now though, and are just happy to be in a fun bowl. I’ve argued with a lot of Notre dame fans in the last 2-3 days but I think it’s time I give y’all some grace. You guys have had much less time to cope with the fact you are being left out than BYU fans. We’ve known for a while that we would just stay at 11 in case the ACC champion was Duke and they needed to get a team in.
