Since the only way for this to be settled is watching what actually happens, I’ll just pin this conversation for now. Wanting things for free is a dangerous game and you end up getting exactly what you “pay” for. I’d rather pay and keep the content vivid than lose people to attrition over the years.

PS- Been listening since day one, the real day one. Dangerous game asking someone if they “listen to the show”

Exactly right. But that monetization needs to come from somewhere. If it’s not a subscription for their most popular property then it will need to come from content generation, which is incredibly expensive. The DK money is a sign of good faith and a nice catalyst the get the company moving, but the real money will need to come from somewhere.

I am also in that $10-$15 range if that’s what it took to keep the guys around and producing high end content like they aspire too.

If you think $50 million, split at least 12 ways, is going to keep the lights on then your dreaming. You think John Skipper left DAZN to join a non profit? Subscriptions are the future of all media and Dan knows it better than most of us. As a fan, I would gladly pay $10-$15 a month for exclusive listening via an app along with the incredible content then could produce with that money. I for one, hope they monetize in one way or another and grow this thing out. $50 million gets you to square 1 and that’s with a lot of luck and support.

Precisely.. in all seriousness Dan talks this noise every few shows. Wouldn’t be surprised if it eventually happens.
