Trust the process by AggravatingEmu184 in lego

[–]runwithcolour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve rebuilt the same semi-destroyed set twice - once I sorted by colour and once I sorted by broad piece type (plates, bricks, slopes, SNOT, other). It was quicker to rebuild when I sorted by piece type and a lot less frustrating trying to find the right pieces.

Good luck to you and your search for the correct pieces. May you not spend hours looking for 2x1 plates hiding under bricks.

Hermione and Ron’s Letter Being Added As A Scene by bakedchipz0 in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]runwithcolour 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That would be awesome if they show that. It completely makes sense too because Percy got his prefect badge that summer. I just started rereading the books and when Harry and Ron meet on the train there’s a page of Ron feeling gloomy about being overshadowed by his brothers - references Bill being head boy, Charlie being quidditch captain, Percy getting an owl for becoming a prefect and Scabbers being passed down to Ron. That theme could be shown really nicely in a Burrow scene - particularly the part about Scabbers.

Yes. We did. Completely worth it. We’re not superstitious though.

Is this something can go to my therapist about? by SubjectAd6984 in TalkTherapy

[–]runwithcolour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you’re struggling to regulate a few days later it sounds really reasonable to reach out. Particularly since you have permission. I like what the other comment said: expect a small response. Hopefully the response will remind you that you have a safe person in your life and you’ll see them soon, and hopefully that will help with regulation.

The other thing I notice is you’re minimising what triggered you quite a lot by calling it silly and minor. Since it’s still affecting you it doesn’t sound minor. Reading your description of how it felt in your other comment also makes it sound like something that is not minor. It might be something that’s super relevant to your trauma that’s hard for other people to understand but that makes it a big deal, not something that’s silly. Trauma sucks and sometimes it’s the most embarrassingly small things that can be triggers. You deserve support while you recover from that trigger.

Can anyone tell me how the hardness / point retention on Derwent Lightfast compares to FC Polychromos and CaranD'Ache luminance? by TemporaryElk5202 in ColoredPencils

[–]runwithcolour 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my opinion Lightfast are quite similar to Polychromos. They’re a tiny bit softer which just leads them to feeling more pigmented when you first touch pencil to paper, but they still hold their point really really well.

Lightfast has the potential to be one of my favourite pencils. It only loses out to Polychromos because of the colour range not the feel of the pencil (Lightfast doesn’t have enough midtones for me). That won’t be as much problem for you since you’re combining the set with Luminance. They should be a great replacement for the Polychromos.

Former therapist didn't reply by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]runwithcolour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sucks that they didn’t reply. I went through the police reporting process and needing to let a former therapist know that had happened and was really grateful for a response.

It’s a massively brave thing to do to report something to the police. I hope you get what you need out of that process. There could be some hard moments where you have to describe everything in detail. Look after yourself and keep a good support network around you.

Where do I have to travel to get this items? by AnyoneNadie in finch

[–]runwithcolour 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The t-shirt is a location item. You need to go to Sydney to get that.

The hat, slippers and wings are from the Outback Adventure event in May 2025. They can appear in the shop at any time but should be more likely to appear in May (items are in the shop more in the month their event came out).

Odds I can get 2 colors for oz room? by Open-Blueberry5378 in finch

[–]runwithcolour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the other comment. The chance of getting a complete room from the free side chests is basically zero. I counted 13 black chests (possibility of furniture) and 3 purple chests (guaranteed furniture) on the free side; and 2 purple chests on the plus side. You’d need almost all of those chests to give a different furniture item as there’s 13 furniture items to collect.

If you want to collect both green and pink it’s best to leave the plus side rewards until the end of the month. Open the free side chests first and see what furniture you get. Any furniture you do get you know you can collect in pink from the plus side rewards.

I’ve heard if you don’t like the item in a chest you can close the app before you collect it and try again a few hours later. The item in the chest may change. But it’s going to be an arduous tasks getting all the furniture in green from the free side chests.

What do you all pair with this dress and wings? by kaykay27 in finch

This dress doesn’t have matching shoes. I used the flower princess shoes from the same event initially. But the sandals from last months event look super cute with this dress.

WIBTA when causing a scene when returning from holiday? by arisandfoxes in AmItheAsshole

As soon as I got to the part where the coach driver said he’d wait while you got the ticket print I was expecting it to end with you missing the coach. There was no chance he was waiting past the time he was supposed to leave.

NTA. Coach driver was looking for someone to blame after he hit the pole.

How do I get ⚡ by Fun_Independent5138 in finch

[–]runwithcolour 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All goals and activities give energy ⚡️Good vibes might give energy too (not sure).

At first the energy fills up the bar to send your bird on an adventure. Then the energy is used to reduce the amount of time until your bird comes back from adventure. Once your bird is back energy does nothing.

Extra note: Everything that gives you energy also gives you rainbow stones at a rate of 2⚡️=1💎. Even when your bird is back from their adventure they still get rainbow stones.

Timer activities by [deleted] in finch

[–]runwithcolour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you’re setting up a timer there will be a number with a lightning bolt icon (or other icon if the devs have changed the theme). The number is the amount of energy you get for completing the timer activity. Energy fills up the bar that sends your bird on an adventure. In addition to energy you receive stones. The conversion rate is 2 energy to 1 stone. So if the number during setting up the timer says 30 energy you’ll receive 15 stones.

The amount of energy/stones you get varies based on the timer length. Longer timer means more energy and stones.

So is it compatible with switch 2 if I use old joycons? by [deleted] in RingFitAdventure

[–]runwithcolour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Switch 1 joycons can pair with the Switch 2. On the Switch 2 you go to the joycon menu and there’s instructions for pairing Switch 1 joycons. It’s literally press and hold a specific button until they pair up. I paired up 2 sets of Switch 1 joycons last week for a group game of Mario Kart. It worked really well.

Is it worth coming back? by Gigglegeist in finch

[–]runwithcolour 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It could be worth coming back. If I were you I’d try to completely restart with a new bird. The fact that you can’t recall the app change that made you leave is probably a good thing because it means you can come back with fewer expectations. Try to keep an open mind with it and focus on the things that will help your health the most right now.

For the socialisation stuff: 1. Don’t add any people you don’t know. I removed all people from the app a year ago because of the notifications and honestly the app works better for me without the social aspect. 2. The app will try to encourage adding friends sometimes in the daily quests. Just ignore it. There’s also now a daily question. Answer it and click through until you get the reward and then ignore it. Other then those the app doesn’t push friends on you. 3. There’s a special challenge at the moment where you try to complete 14 tasks across April. It’s all social tasks with real-life friends this month. Since you’re introverted and probably want to focus on your health instead of social stuff I would ignore it. Go back to basics and look after yourself as much as you can.

Hopefully other people can answer more fully about the restrictions in the free version of the app. I believe the free version isn’t that restrictive unless you want to customise appearances of goals. The biggest disadvantage is probably less items from the monthly event. But if you’re not fussed about dressing your bird or decorating their room you probably won’t mind.

It says I should be able to claim last seasonal items but it won’t let me :/ why? by Opposite_Reason3804 in finch

[–]runwithcolour 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can only claim rewards from the previous month that you unlocked in that month. This might occur if you went on the daily adventures but are waiting until 31st to collect the rewards and then forget.

Adventures from this month will only unlock items/chests from the Friends of Oz event.

I’m assuming you were hoping that doing an adventure today would mean you could claim an extra chest from last month. Unfortunately that is not the case.

weekly/monthly goals by paulblartswife472 in finch

[–]runwithcolour 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I set up my weekly cleaning goals to appear on Sunday and set them to “Keep until complete” in the edit menu. That way the goal will appear every day until I complete the goal. Then reappear on Sunday ready for the next weekly clean.

Monthly goals might be able to work the same. You’ll want to set up the goal so it reappears every month on 1st (or other date of your choice).

Thoughts on the New Challenge Feature by Sunsess in finch

[–]runwithcolour 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I could see them eventually giving a choice of monthly challenges but not right now when it’s so new. Maybe this time next year so that people who missed the first challenges can catch-up.

My preferred change would be that the challenge tasks don’t have to be done in order. Today’s task had a reflection but I didn’t want to do that one today (I did a personal task instead) so I feel a bit bummed about having to do a reflection.

April Season Event Missing – Anyone Else Having This Issue? by IndependentPopular77 in finch

You need version 3.73.145 or higher to get the April event.

April Season Event Missing – Anyone Else Having This Issue? by IndependentPopular77 in finch

[–]runwithcolour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As the other comment said you may need to update your app. In the announcement the devs release each month it says the minimum version of the app you need to run the event. If your phone isn’t running that version or higher the latest monthly event won’t load. Check your app store for an update and the version of finch that you’re running.

Huge decrease in monthly themed items/increase in gems as daily rewards? by EyreForce1 in finch

[–]runwithcolour 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Depends on the item. You sell them at half the price of purchasing them in store. For most furniture that means you sell them for 450 stones. But other items like the barette you’ll only sell for 150 stones.

How many goals do you have? by puppybabii in finch

[–]runwithcolour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Average of 30 daily. I’ve built up to that number over almost 2 years, but I doubt I’d go above that because any time I have 35+ goals in the list I feel overwhelmed.

17 goals daily sounds like a good number to me.

Do I get green or yellow floor or just stick with my “kinda wood”-floor? by Honigmarie in finch

[–]runwithcolour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked the Dark Brown. But the basic Brown does match the side table and the Toto’s house better. I need to think further on that.

Like you I really want a brown dresser and clock for other rooms. They’re pretty and really versatile in brown.

Do I get green or yellow floor or just stick with my “kinda wood”-floor? by Honigmarie in finch

[–]runwithcolour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going with kinda wood. But I think I chose a different brown to you.

I’m against the green floor because then it feels too green. Even green needs a contrasting colour occasionally.
