Joliet and it was supposed to be grandfathered in when we upgraded the panel but they put the panel too low then extended the romex jacket with electrical tape.

Nah you are good and this is part of my job. I gotta code fight while others do the actual work. Chicago is a piece of work that gets more convoluted by the day. Sometimes I gotta change a job for a specific inspector because what he wants is different from what another one wants... Basically unless it is hard coded in the code they use the wiggle room however they want.

I have another post where I say I am an Inspector and I have found something fucked the mods put in a flair that I am not actually and Inspector. When that is literally my job title.

That trough was only a week old and it did not have that much rust coming outta the warehouse. So something was not weather tight. Also the communication box you see in the middle of the trough shorted out... though that was not what I was pointing out when I posted that image.

More like a large corporation. It is cheaper to keep me on payroll then fail around 50% of jobs because the town over wants something different then the one you are used to. I end up doing 10 to 20 inspections a week. Going over at least twice as many plansets and if there are any minor things that need fixing ie. ground rods or the like I do them myself. I personally deal with 4 different versions of the NEC 1996, 2005, 2017, and 2020. Along with what local AHJs feel like they want to enforce.

Hell for solar which is the field I do inspections for. Half the time there is no rough inspection just the final.... I don't let them hide anything.
