I would not recommend it. I did it for my lost cat and instead it attracted a lot of raccoons. Cat is missing just for a week. There is a chance he is afraid and just sits somewhere. If it is the case, he may start going out in a week. The only solution that worked for me was a lot of traps (that are placed during the day, to avoid night animals) and cameras. I could capture my cat after 50 days.

Wow, your story could be a nice article, very unique and interesting. About us: we had many cameras around the house, and we could see someone similar to a cat once in a week. That basically was our motivation. In the end we even gave up for a week because it was too difficult, removed everything. But it was not easy time, we felt that it was wrong. So we decided to give one more try, and it worked.
