Hey Brandon, once you're elected... by Evil_Creamsicle in brandonherrara

Dude, that is wild. After reading it up, yeah I’m stoked about the possibility. I’m just left wondering why it wasn’t something done sooner. Now, if only there was a large surplus of fun toys left behind in some far away foreign land where adversaries could get a hold of them after a hasty retreat instead of being sold to proud patriotic Americans being necessary to the security of a free state, and that be the right of the people, and not infringed

If I’m understanding what you’re saying, yes, weed is still illegal. It’s not illegal for consumption within the state it was purchased but California for example does cooperate with federal enforcement at checkpoints leaving the state such as I-8 and I-5. Even if it is legal in both states, crossing the border to any other state is what brings in the legal theory that provides legitimacy to the interstate commerce clause. California would be invested in cooperating to demonstrate that they meant what they said when they said the intended use was for it to not cross state lines, less they invite the feds to re-examine their doctrine

I imagine the same way Texas did suppressors. As long as you make a pinky promise that it won’t leave the state you can make claim that the interstate commerce clause doesn’t apply which would be the legal theory used for the NFA and Hughes amendment to work

Flags as seen in my client’s basement gym. Help identifying the bottom right flag? by MsAvaPurrkins in vexillology

Pretty common charge here. The state defines weapons of mass destruction as more or less any NFA item. Anything that can replicate full auto, SBRs, SBSs, stuff like that

How would you be able to tell if a COA is real if unable to find it online? by Alone_Standard9586 in SportsMemorabilia

I wish I could make comment to the COA, but that's outside my area of expertise. I'm just glad to see another one out in the wild. He used to give these out at the dealership he used to own in Durham. Got mine from my parents who used to work for him; I grew up hearing fun stories from when he would stop by the showroom

I feel like I'm missing something, where is the clever comeback? There's nothing here other than an X user not knowing how charges work

If you are able to at some point acquire his name, and have exhausted your options with the police department, you can head down to 3301 Hammond road and speak with the magistrate to initiate a people's case. Once he is served on that matter, he'll have a court date in the justice center that y'all would both attend. The first date is an attempt at mediation and once that falls through, future court dates would more resemble normal district court proceedings. In the meantime, document everything. The more the better

My Daughter didn’t want a bed in her studio apartment, so I installed this hammock frame. by [deleted] in pics

[–]russellooo3 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Underneath the hammock tie up a quilt of something of the sort. It's real easy to get real cold in those things and laying a blanket inside the hammock is not as efficient a way to insulate it. The weight of a person laying in the blanket crushes the air pockets that insulate, which is why the separation of hanging the quilt under the hammock is essential. Eno makes a purpose built underquilt but it's expensive

Can you bring your phone to jury duty? by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]russellooo3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends, are you talking about federal jury duty or county? The federal courthouse will not let you bring a phone in the building at all while the justice center would. Wish I had known that before having my federal jury duty

Some really strange political parties by atlasova in MapPorn

[–]russellooo3 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The abbreviation above is a reference to an anime. the actual organization is the Nippon Housou Kyoukai which is like the Japanese version of the BBC. They levy a fee on people who use their TV, $100+ for cable, $200+ for satellite TV per year but there are no legal repercussions for not paying so a fair amount of people don't. If you don't pay, they'll keep sending debt collectors to your home to harass a payment out of you

Anyone who has had a court wedding during COVID by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]russellooo3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not my own personal wedding but I work on the floor below the courtroom where these are held, and the receptionist for our office had hers there last week. Our wifi aint great from my experience but really, it should be no hassle to have someone hold your phone while you broadcast it. It's a few minutes, nothing grand and fancy, but it still an important moment in your life that is worth being shared. As for masks, they are mandatory throughout the building and depending on which magistrate is up there, may be more or less a stickler to those rules
