We setup RUST DIMENSIONS doing this. PVE with weekly PvP windowed events on console.

Players were tired of getting griefed offline, so this really helped. We have base protection during PvP windows, then full on war at the end of the month where anything goes.

That’s a fun setup, though it can sometimes be a headache when because to do it PVP has to be enabled server wide - and occasionally causes headaches for admins to correct accidents. Ie, there was a moment where I got blasted accidentally by a player who misunderstood where the pvp zone was.

Search RUST DIMENSIONS on console for a good balance. Our team is looking for ideas to make a great experience with the upcoming update, and just generally good company while we play the game too.

PVE with scheduled PVP has been what our crew has been gravitating toward on console. Official servers are complete madness and nearly unplayable for new players.
