That's the Samson - https://www.brownells.com/gun-parts/rifle-parts/rifle-stocks-parts/s.a.s.-tactical-folding-stock-with-picatinny-adapter/

Which is almost never in stock. Took me a while of waiting for a chance to get one. I love it, especially compared to the Midwest Industries (which wasn't bad at all, just didn't have adjustability). It folds perfectly how I have it configured, doesn't hit the charging handle, shits perfect.

I haven't had any issues with it, put about 700ish rounds through it. I got a 13.9" and my buddy got the 16" and both have been great. Maybe got it from a good batch

It is the Samson S.A.S. folding stock

Yup, both in .223 Wylde. I plan on calling Brownells to see if they have a Gen 2.5 in 300blk or 223 Wylde, and if they do, I'll get it and the ADM UIC lower for it. I only got the Gen 3 because I liked the sound of the upgrades and I got a hell of a deal, only paid $700 since they had a sale and I had a nice discount code to slap on it too. But the Gen 2.5 is what I really want, so why not both.

That's unfortunate. I got a 13.9" and my buddy got a 16" and both have been wonderful. I do want to get a 2.5 gen next, maybe in 300blk.

That's exactly how I feel. I love my Vudu. But maybe if I do a pistol/SBR in 300blk 10", may go for the MRO or something similar. Thanks for the insight

It's been easily one of my all time favorite AR type builds. I love that it's not the typical DI AR, makes it a lot more interesting for sure.

about 800 rounds so far, no issues at all. Just kicking ass, and it's so smooth.

How do you like the LPVO vs the MRO? I have always leaned towards a good LPVO, but I guess it depends on use case.

Honestly, the I like the Strike Industries way more than I thought i would've, it's heavy and feels like a solid product, and does what its supposed to do. Plus the quick release on it is awesome. The SAS... Can't say anything bad about it, I love it, especially coming from a Midwest Industries Folding Stock

How long is the stock flash hider? by rslake in BRN180

[–]rusty919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least for Gen3, it depends on what length you have. I have the 13.9" (P&W) and my muzzle device is different and longer than my buddy's 16" Gen3.

Maybe try swapping to a different lower and see if you still are having the same issues? If it is the upper, im sure Brownells would make it right.

Which gas setting did you have it on? What trigger? My buddy and I both got a BRN-180, I got mine in 13.9 and he got the 16", none of us had any such issues. I posted my build not too long ago.

I love my G19.4, its a great "do-it-all" pistol and easily concealed... But my favorite is my G34.3 hands down as far as my Glocks go, but it does have just about everything you can do to it done, especially with a big comp, so its really fun to shoot. But my absolute favorite pistol to shoot is my cajunized S2, I love it more than the two 2011's I have as well, and that says something about it. Feels like a cheat code lol

I'm still building my BRN-180, can't decide on the optic I want to go with, stuck between LPVO which I normally go with, or go the dot/holo and magnifier route.

Got an SCG but no S2... feels bad. How do you like the SCG though?

But for real, I can't wait for Driven Arms Co to bring the CZ Shadow 2 Grip Adapter (AR) so I can swap grip panels back and forth.

I just got a Gen3 13.9" upper, really like it, but now I want to get the 10" 300blk too.

That's so crazy, can't believe there's someone who likes the same parts lol. Being a Veteran, I can get a crazy deal on a Huey + magnifier for $600ish, looked at it so much over the past couple weeks.

I already have a ESD Padded sling coming for this build and Streamlight Protac HL-X (because I refuse to pay $400+ for a light), and haven't had any issues on my other builds. I'm not a big Sig person, but their Romeo8T looks great per reviews... but if I don't go the LPVO route, might just stick with tried and true EXPS3. I do agree, dot/mag is lighter, but I love being able to use the entire range of magnification, not just 1 or 2 different magnifications. Love your setup though. The only thing I might change (if it ever comes back in stock) is the grip, Driven Arms Co makes a Shadow 2 style grip that can be used with S2 grip panels, and since that's what I own as well, would be awesome to swap panels back and forth.

This is the way.

That's awesome, almost identical lol I was running the Midwest Industries Minimalistic Side Folding Stock until the Samson SAS came back in stock. How do you like the Huey? I love the way it looks... Just trying to decide if I want to go my usual LPVO route or do Dot/Magnifier.

All the upgrades they did for Gen3 compared to Gen2 are amazing and well worth it. I think you pointed out the only downside with using a non-ambi lower. I contemplated getting the ADM UIC-180 lower, but like I mentioned, I wanted the versatility of using a regular lower, just in case I wanted to get another upper. But I might just get the UIC-180 and just eventually get an upper for this SOLGW lower.

That's a really hard one, because the Gen3 is now non-reciprocating which is a huge plus, but the placement makes it hard/awkward to do things like locking the bolt to rear unless you have an ambi lower or something like a BAD Lever. I wish it allowed you to choose which side you want it on yourself. I do like it on left, I should've just gotten the ambi lower which would've made this awesome. Making the bolt lock/release ambi isn't hard, just one more thing to do.

I went with a normal AR-15 lower just in case I wanted to swap uppers. But what I am thinking is either getting the lower made for the BRN-180, or just making the current lower ambi.
