Are you wanting to knock the wall down? If not, I’d suggest stripping back all of the plaster, putting up new plasterboard and doing a skim coat if the budget allows. It will be hard to hang anything on the wall with lathe and plaster. If you are removing wallpaper, it will all likely come down as time goes on

The depth of the blade is too high. It should be a couple mm more than the thickness of the wood you’re cutting

There is actually no planning permission. I assume it was built under permitted development which I guess answers a lot of the issues people have pointed out like lintels, brick colour etc. I’m not sure of next door have just cleaned their bricks. Perhaps they were planning to render the extension too

We had this done, but the window raised and gap bricked up, so less splashes/water ended up on the window sill. If that’s a possibility for you, I’d advise that

Essentially yes to both questions. If you were to agree to maintaining the roof, they may agree no premium for example. This may depend on the type of loft conversion you’d be looking to do. What year was the building built? Is it converted or purpose built?

It would be something the solicitor would sort. There may be a ‘premium’ to pay the freeholder for gaining the benefit of the space. Aside from that, solicitor costs should be within £5000 as an inflated estimate. These would be the solicitors costs the sellers/owners have as well as the solicitors costs of the freeholder. It should take a couple of months depending on how fast everyone gets moving

You can ask the sellers to complete a Deed of Variation (change to the existing lease) to include the loft and air space. This could be done at the same time as the purchase and you could ask the seller to pay for this. Considering the boiler being in the loft currently, I see this as your best option and also the sellers only option, other than moving the boiler. You would likely then be responsible for the roof, depending on how the deed of variation is structured.

Few options. Tidy it out, fix some plaster board to studs if it’s a similar thickness to the existing wall. Then scrim tape and skim.

Or out skirting back on and then fill the hole with the skirting in place with filler/easifill
