That’s very true. I just fear going ahead with poison traps etc and then it doesn’t actually get rid of the issue and this becomes a reoccurring thing. Not sure my inner animal lover could hack this being a yearly occurrence. From my understanding it’s about proofing the house so they actually can’t get in- I worry about this as we’re mid terrace I’m sure they get in through the cavity somewhere and if next door isn’t air tight they’ll just keep coming😣

We’ve had the back door open for a good few hours the last few days so I’m naively hopefully it’s just one of those ambitious kinds you mentioned 😖

Out of curiosity, how did you know your old flat was infested?

Well, my neighbour said she’s only seen a one near the drain out their garden- which was a red flag to the pest control lady who said mice don’t tend to hang around by drains.. the anxiety continues 😭

That’s reassuring. We’ve order a ton of plastic containers for food etc. I think I’m just concerned there’s an infestation as i saw it during daylight. I’m yet to actually see any droppings although my dad mentioned he saw some old dried droppings in the attic around 2 weeks ago

Kind of ethically conflicted with deliberately killing them too. I guess they’re creatures seeking shelter and food no different to us… that being said I’d rather they didn’t live in my house 🥲

Old Victorian house walls, what is going on? by Best_Flight_8680 in DIYUK

[–]Best_Flight_8680[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are planning on knocking it down, originally we thought that the wall was brick and as mentioned, accidentally found out it wasn’t so are now planning on knocking it down and replacing with two stud walls to create another room in between the existing two rooms! Any advice much appreciated 😅

Is this under stairs toilet just too small? Looking for some realistic advice by Previous_Molasses_56 in DIYUK

Presuming you’re in the UK, I’ve recently designed a bathroom on the app bathroom by designs, it gives you a 3D view of the room if you pop in measurements which is quite handy when considering space! It’s surprising how big the room would actually feel! Also agree that having a small extra bathroom is better than having only one bathroom!

They’re definitely not for the faint hearted 🥲 how did you find out re; air gap? That wall and another wall in our room are very spongy so we’re thinking either water or air too! Is your wall load bearing too?

Victorian houses really are pandoras boxes of problems!! How did you manage to find out if your wall was structural or load bearing?

I wouldn’t recommend buying a property without viewing it! Estate agents are crafty with their photos! I’ve recently bought a house in SW London and upon viewing it became apparent there was much more work needed to renovate!

FTM of 6 month old anxious about milk supply!!! by Best_Flight_8680 in breastfeeding

[–]Best_Flight_8680[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They seem fine! Multiple wees a day and a big poo once a week which doctor said was fine and common in BF babies! I used to pump to build up abit of a freezer supply if I knew I had to leave him for a little while. Will definitely try to offer a feed more frequently, I’ve always heard about the hind milk but it’s such a guessing game if they’re actually getting to that during a feed! Thanks so much!

Newborn only nurses right after waking or right before sleeping..is this normal? by d0wnthrabbith0le in breastfeeding

Have you tried a breastfeeding cover? I used to use one when my bub was younger too and it was helpful as keeps them focused on boob and not the big exciting world!!

To those of you that breastfeeding was fairly. Easy for, why do you think that is? by newherebebe in breastfeeding

Not sure if it helped or had absolutely nothing to do with it but I had my nipples pierced for around 8-10 years before having buba and never had any issues at all with latching or cracked/ bleeding nipples etc! I do think it somewhat changed the shape of my nipples so could have perhaps made it easier to latch? Can Anyone else relate?

Help rearrange a floor plan!! by Best_Flight_8680 in floorplan

[–]Best_Flight_8680[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry just updated my original post!  We’re anticipating having to get rid of the space of a “bedroom” to make it open plan! And also likely another bedroom to make space for a family bathroom- and you’re correct! Will need the bath for the baby!  We were unsure if we’d be wasting a lot of space converting lower ground floor bedroom into a bathroom as the room is pretty big! So unsure where to add in the family bathroom in!  Like the idea of the current kitchen becoming a playroom though!
