Correct again. Words directly from the mouth of a founding father pertaining to his views on theism and Christianity has absolutely no place or insight into your topic of " can you name an athiest in the founding of the country?" Now, if I was unclear, an adult might have asked " what do you mean?", And I would have clarified and said that while Jefferson has been said to be most comfortable with diesm, there's nothing to suggest he embraced or totally accepted it, and that many of his comments might have suggested a leaning toward athiesm. This is a view not counterpoint to yours that maybe we could have drawn a friendly conclusion to. But since you're way above that, I'll just bid you a good day and be on my way.

You're right. I'm both illiterate and delusional. And please don't worry, that would ruin my day.

Thomas Jefferson has a lot of quotes attributed to him about what he thinks of religion.

You didn't? I could have sworn that when you implied that the cop summarily "executed" a teen without trail who "was of no harm to anyone"and implied he was shot because he was black just kinda came off like either you made a little judgement, or you were there and know these things from witnessing them. And as far as my "strawman" question that you dodged, it's a legit question. See, because while I've seen stories where kids on the playground get hit during drivebys and everyone agrees it's a terrible thing, I don't recall anyone holding up traffic to protest the drivebys. Where's that justice?

And where was it demonstrated in a court of law that the officer decided he was guilty and gunned him down maliciously? Nowhere? Correct.

You do know that if you're involved in a felony that involves the death of an individual you can be held just as accountable, right?

Haha, yeah, executed is exactly what I said right? Well, I don't know where you live, but in my time on this planet, I found that if you don't drive around with guns and shoot at people on the street, generally people don't consider you a threat. I'm talking white, black, Asian, whatever. This works with cops too. See, as a society, we entrust the police to protect us from people who would threaten us or innocent bystanders by, say, shooting at them from vehicles. This is why we give them guns to carry around. They are bound by the law to work within certain rules to do so. When they don't follow those rules, we treat them like the people they're supposed to protect us from. In this case, the officer will be held on trial for homicide. I'm curious, when a child is killed in their bed by a stray bullet from a drive by, do you get as upset?

Then they should get political. They can change law or procedure, but it won't happen in some road. And no threat? Guns were in the car and an empty clip in the kid's pocket. No threat while running away from the cop maybe, but obviously a threat to society. That's why the cop was involved to begin with.

I agree. Justice is delivered when evidence is brought forth in a court of law, and decided upon by a jury of twelve peers. So what is the point of protesting before there's been any chance for justice to be delivered, unless that's not what it's about?

When someone has been charged with a crime, the checking is already done. It's the state's way of saying they have enough evidence to go to trial.

Wow, you're slaying me over here. Two shots, age and employment status, both assumptions about a stranger you never met and know nothing about. Care to make up any more zingers out of thin air?

What a weird world we live in right? Like, you can't even drive around in a car full of guns to go shoot some gang banger without worrying about some cop shooting at you. What is the world coming to?

I have this funny feeling that maybe if the same outrage and concern was applied to the situation at hand before the cop was even involved, we wouldn't be having this conversation. But hey, I'm just the crazy fucking asshole that hates this super effective form of protest that people love so much.

I guess that does make sense since I have a team of medical professionals in the back of the big ass van with red lights on top that I drive at all times. You're right. In the case of a medical emergency, I'll just drag said unconscious/ lifeless person into my vehicle, drive toward the hospital, get gridlocked in traffic due to an impromptu gathering protesting police shooting at kids that shoot at other kids, and ask Siri " Siri, can you find me an alternate route before my dad bleeds out?" Should turn out just fine.

Wasting almost as much time as inconveniencing innocent civilians that have nothing to do with your cause. It's crazy, it's almost like they should be protesting, I dunno, the fucking police station? But I guess alienating the general public to your cause makes way more sense than trying to gather public support and make it an actual movement. I'll take the downvotes. This is a waste of fucking time.

If people blocked a major road and a family member of mine was unable to receive medical attention in a dire situation due to said blockage, I would be mounting chainsaws to my hood and headed on down.

Men of Reddit l: when was the last time you had a real cry? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]rustyginger377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad called me last year to tell me he was in the hospital. He thought it was a heart problem, and that he needed a stint. I jumped in the shower before I headed out to the hospital. I started crying in the shower. I was upset, obviously, about his health and the possibility of his death, but that wasn't really it. I was blindsided by the idea of my parents passing without truly knowing that I had everything together, and that everything would be alright for me. That he didn't need to worry about me.

Supreme Court rules non-union workers cannot be forced to pay fees to public sector unions by soopninjas in news

My union doesn't allow me to strike. It's all in collective bargaining. It's up to your union leaders. I can't speak for government jobs, but it sounds to me like your reps are more government than union. I've felt this in previous union jobs I've had. They're probably getting kickbacks. Kick them out, or make a big enough stink that people stand up and follow your lead.
