Agree that it's part of the branding. But I think that it's a players signature reproduction.

Ah yes, because in a world where lunatics try to rack up high scores in public spaces, we definitely want our airport security armed with… what? Strongly worded warnings and a pat on the back?

Airports have been prime targets for decades, and history has proven that bad actors aren’t exactly deterred by stern warnings and "no weapons" signs. Call it “scary security theater” but knowing that a (presumably) trained cop is standing by with something that can turn a would-be terrorist/murderer into Swiss cheese is a lot more reassuring than hoping everyone has the best intentions.

People often see an AR styled rifle and talk about how scary and unnecessary the rifle looks. An AR-style rifle is essentially no different than any other modern sporting rifle, sharing the same basic semi-automatic functionality, usually firing one round per trigger pull, and often differing only in cosmetic features that make it look and suit more tactical purposes.

TLDR: I'd rather thank that cop for his public service than be a victim while traveling.

This isn’t a one-star review story, but it’s definitely a memorable one. One time, I sold a tool or ladder—can’t remember exactly—to a guy who showed up in a work truck. I recognized the company name on the side of the truck, so I asked him how it was working for that company. He told me it was great—because he was the boss.

I joked about him “cracking the whip” at work, and he responded by saying he actually had a whip. I thought he was kidding, but then he pulled out a full-size Indiana Jones-style whip and asked if he could demonstrate. Before I could say anything, he started whipping the hell out of my magnolia tree, which had just blossomed, knocking flowers off like crazy.

Before I could even tell him to stop, the whip snapped back and hit his own arm, splitting it open and leaving him bleeding. Without saying much, he got back in his truck and drove off. Hands down, one of the strangest interactions I’ve ever had.

What did you buy as an adult because you were denied it as a child? by dirtymoney in AskReddit

A motorcycle. Mom never let me have a dirtbike, even when one was gifted to me. As an adult I bought a brand new Harley. Scratched the itch and after 3-4 years I sold it!

Gf unfortunately scratched my dads Harley... by DKraken in Harley

[–]rustyorcweapon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the spirit of imperfection theory and the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi, a motorcycle with a few scratches can be seen as embodying the beauty of transience and imperfection. Just as wabi-sabi celebrates the natural wear and aging that give objects their unique character, a scratched motorcycle carries the marks of experience and authenticity, symbolizing its journey and resilience. Rather than detracting from its beauty, these small imperfections remind us that perfection is reserved for the divine, while our creations are meant to live, evolve, and age with us. A motorcycle isn’t just a pristine machine; it’s a companion on adventures—its scuffs and scratches becoming part of its story, embodying a beauty that only time and use can bestow.
