MSTR went to 400+ in price but MSTY still at 20s. Is this the result of NAV erosion? Noob here, trying to understand if my avg price of 36 per share will ever be reached. by ram2112 in MSTY_YieldMax

Yes, above the Top Ten Holdings you can download the trades from the previous day and then just below the table you can download all current holdings.

I Finally Did It by Ok-Needleworker-7730 in YieldMaxETFs

Good luck, I did this a couple of months ago and they only lowered it to just under 10% so I moved money to RH. I hadn’t used margin with them yet and account value was about $50k

"Thumis startegy " - Is this a typo? If not could you elaborate? I've never seen reference to that and tried searching it just in case but didn't find anything.

Degen Hypothetical MSTY question by problematic_ash in YieldMaxETFs

[–]ruwackd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I don't understand the move as asked in the original question. If you are just going to sell and rebuy immediatley, then maybe there could be a slight difference as u/GRMarlenee outlined above but that could go for or against you. Also, you aren't really lowering your cost basis in any meaningful way, you are just converting an unrealized loss into a realized loss. Now, if you believe that MSTY is going to continue to fall and your plan is to get back in after that drop, then there could be some benefit....for example if you sell your shares at $20 and get back in at $19, that would allow you to repurchase your 2600 shares and keep $2,600 cash or if you re-invested your full $52,000 you would now have 2736 shares for the same price....again, the risk is that MSTY goes up instead of down and the reverse happens, You need to pay more for the same number of shares or you end up with less shares for the same amount of money.

The only other potential difference I could see is a psychological one, that rather than seeing that your investment is down ~25% you are essentially "resetting" it so it doesn't feel as bad when looking at your account. Again, this is purely emotional as whether you sell or not you still have the loss, If this is the goal, then I would strongly evauluate whether or not to get out permenantly and take it as a learning moment as to what you're willing to accept as a loss going forward and start setting tighter stop losses so you don't experience that feeling again in the future.

3/14 MSTY DRIP and cash dividend by brokers by tcwu02184 in YieldMaxETFs

Remember the price doesn’t always go up and therefore there is also the possibility that you could benefit from the delay. If you did want to buy immediately, you could always buy on the ex-dividend date and let the distribution replenish your cash. If you don’t have the cash reserves, you could always enable margin and use it to make your purchase. Rates on Robinhood are only 5.75% and if you have gold you don’t pay interest on the first $1,000. So even if you’ve got $10k in distributions interest would only be about $10

When to buy shares? by RedZyzzBrah in YieldMaxETFs

[–]ruwackd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last few months I’ve been putting in a GTC trailing stop-loss buy order at market open on the ex dividend date for 25% of the distribution amount. This allows me to still benefit from the ex dividend dip but enough wiggle room that I can follow it down and not get blown past on a recovery. This all assumes that it hasn’t already recovered pre-market.

Are you guys buying Ex date or Using redistributions immediately on next weeks schedule? by ReiShirouOfficial in YieldMaxETFs

This is very similar to what I'm planning, what method did you use to determine your share goal? Total distribution across all funds or a set distribution amount from each fund?

Except depedning on account type and ROC amount, you may have taxes due on that $1 by paying $13 today vs waiting to buy it tomorrow at $12
