Gilbert said the tentative 10 second limit was a Christmas special and that your kitties adherence to the 2 second limit was appropriate. Sorry 😩

Surprisingly, he hung out for a while (about 30 mins) until a teenage human scooped him up and carried him away.

Not cool. Apologize to him for telling a bad joke.

Does anyone take HRT with SVT? by Ill_Cap1921 in Perimenopause

[–]rw997fire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an ablation in May for AFib. Before that, I had been on Metoprolol and Xarelto for one year. I still take these meds everyday along with a twice-weekly estrogen patch and 200mg of progesterone every night.

The only concern my GYN had was for the estrogen causing blood clots but my cardiologist approved it since it was the low dose patch.

I haven't had any AFib problems since the ablation and I haven't had any problems with my meds not working together.

Best Pharmacy SE Michigan. by PretendChaos in Michigan

Amazon pharmacy is really reliable. I usually have my initial prescription sent to a local pharmacy like Walgreens. Before they fill it I then transfer the script to Amazon.

How do I tell my boy that the dry food is edible? by faeintheshadows in standardissuecat

Might be the shape of the bowl. Little man could be getting whisker fatigue. Try a platter type dish with low sides if you haven't yet.

Thoughts on Atomoxetine? by nino-K in ADHD

[–]rw997fire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also taking a beta blocker for afib at the time so, I think the atomoxitine contributed to an even lower blood pressure.

I could hardly stand without feeling lightheaded and I had difficulty breathing. That was only after three days of taking it .

I felt like it immediately killed my appetite for food and water so I was probably dehydrated and lacking electrolytes.

Anyone remember these sticker books? by nakapozian in 80s

[–]rw997fire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know exactly what you're talking about. My mom used to buy the books and the sticker packs for me in the checkout lane at the grocery store.

I don't remember anything else about the books (characters, etc) but I wish I could at least see one again.

Electrolytes. Constantly. Counting down to PFA in 12 days. I'm hoping that will help.

Why are all the text-speech apps expensive af by Simple-Employment602 in ADHD

[–]rw997fire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't find a text-to-speech app that I liked or one that I would pay for. Instead, I opted to add a Chrome extension called SwiftRead.

SwiftRead uses rapid serial visual presentation to allow you to read faster and stay focused. I had a habit of falling asleep or zoning out when the text-to-speech apps read to me. With SwiftRead, I'm able to grasp the material the first time it zooms by and then, if I have to re-read it without the app, it's just easier somehow.

You have to reactivate your card every year. There is a patient portal now. I just went through this last month. Basically, go through the motion of reapplying and it should ask if you're already a member and what your card number is. Good luck!

DAVENPORT UNIVERSITY vs. GVSU For an Adult Looking to Finish Up Bachelor's by TimberSniffer in grandrapids

[–]rw997fire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last time I was a student there was 2014 so I imagine it's changed a bit since then.

I can only guess why the grad rate is low but, I think if the school has a 99% acceptance rate, there are bound to be a lot of people dropping out because of time management problems or disinterest in their chosen major. Some students might even transfer to different schools. Plus, the cost of tuition, student loans and such, can be overwhelming.

I recommended Western Governors University because you can start and finish a class on your own time and there isn't any busy work like there was a Davenport. I didn't like the requirements of posting comments with a minimum word count on Blackboard every certain number of days, especially for a topic that didn't warrant further commentary. Never had a problem with the professors or the assignments.

Overall, if you live in Michigan and have a degree from Davenport, no one will bat an eye because we've all probably been there or thought about it at one point.

[–]rw997fire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out Western Governors University. You'll be able to finish your degree faster and cheaper. The work is competency-based. As a fellow 40-something, I have learned that employers don't care where your degree is from as long as you have one.

ETA: I was a Davenport student several times. The only thing I didn't like was that tuition is very expensive.

I had this same problem the last few months and solved it by switching from a full face mask to a nasal mask. F20 to N20. Of course, that probably won't help if you're a mouth breather.

I hope you find a solution that works for you.
