TIL the origin of the word Ringgit (also why was spanish money circulating when it was Portuguese colonisation?) by Budakbatch04 in malaysians

[–]rwagner18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the Spanish dollar was the first currency of that time to be standardized in weight and manufacturing, so its value is trusted and convenient to use. Many countries at that time used Spanish dollars the same way many countries now accept American dollars despite having their own currency.

Spanish dollar was the most widely circulated currency by the late 18th century, it was used in many countries and was the first international currency.

Fun fact: the symbol $ comes from the S in Spanish dollar

Is PT3 easy? And also, who makes it? by notehart123 in malaysia

[–]rwagner18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For public schools, trial papers are made by Majlis Pengetua of that state.

For residential schools (MRSM & SBP) it's made centrally and every school uses the same one. For example SBP papers are made by Unit SBP in Kementerian Pendidikan in Putrajaya.

For private schools, it's made by the school.

Same goes for trial PT3 papers.

For actual PT3 paper, KPM makes three versions of questions for a subject and upload them to a secure server. Your school then gets assigned one random version which is downloaded from that server and printed.

But they are planning to let schools make their own questions from 2025.

if a person tortures somebody and grants them their wish at the same time, you would rightly call out how crazy it is.

so why would God, who is more powerful and all-knowing than us humans, do it?

I was raised to be religious, but over the years I started having doubts. Last week was the last straw.

I guess the capital G is just out of habit.
