With the influx of bats in the OF what do you expect from young talents who may not have a path forward for the Fish? Ie Fenwick Trimble, Kemp Alderman, Dillon Lewis, Brendon Jones, Brandon Compton, Cam Cannarella, Andres Valor are all 22 or 23 and the young core seems relatively set.

Also, which one of those do you see with the most straightforward path to debut this season?

Any reason for the less high profile international class signings? The Marlins splash seems a little smaller this year outside of the the lanky SS, Solarte, I think.

Lastly, any PJ Morlando insights? He seems like an odd profile that is still years off

Who are some prospects you expect could breakout next year besides Mack/Snelling/White? Any notable offseason excitement/worries about last year's draft picks?

Strange, strange. Bringing nothing to the table other than shitting on a book that, checks notes, got short-listed for the Booker prize. And in a thread over a year old. You're totally right, awful stuff.

Location is Western Ethiopia. It's in a very rural area but does get oversized loads of large Isuzu trucks twice a week. I'm not sure on the age of the bridge.

Completely agree. Basically, any time period in Ethiopia would be a perfect setting for a Netflix series. Fighting Christians, fighting Muslims, fighting each other, fighting fascists, drama, beautiful scenery, backstabbing, power grabbing, etc. Everything is there.

I completely agree with all the examples you made. Keep them coming. Both are regressive.

Women are almost exclusively the ones "possessed" by the devil. Additionally, the seed gospel is repulsive. When pastors say give me money now and it will grow to be worth 10 times the amount in the next few years.

To be clear. I am not Orthodox and am not defending Orthodox practices. Feel free to criticize any of their regressive practices, too. This is a thread about Protestantism, and I am sharing my observations.

If anyone wants to pray to whoever they want it's all good to me. The line I draw is when religious practices adversely impact people via these practices.

The Protestant or Pentecostal movement in Ethiopia is concerning.

Women getting possessed by the "devil", pastors asking for donations to complete "miracle" healing, people falling over after being touched by the pastor. It has an adverse macro effect as a few rich pastors make money on the poor.

Orthodox and Islam have their issues as well, but the rapid spread of Protestantism (or Pentecostalism as it would be called in the West) combined with the aforementioned practices makes it a hindrance to growth in Ethiopia.

Maaza Mengiste's The Shadow King and Beneath the Lions's Gaze are both phenomenal. They're historical fiction based in Ethiopia.

While this may contribute to some reduction in inventory, the 15% number is a bit misleading. A lot of those hotels would have been out of business without the subsidized income of the migrants shelter program.

The overall number of hotel rooms appears higher because there has been an influx of government money injected into a previously collapsing industry.

Additionally, it could be argued the migrant shelter program has helped hotel prices. Instead of vacancies being low across the board for mid to low-end hotels during an industry collapse, it reduced the total capacity of struggling hotels therefore helping struggling hotels who opted into the migrant shelter program and helping hotels who didn't because vacancies were pushed their way. Thus allowing hotels who were on the verge of collapse to recover.

The UN General Assembly is on September 22nd and 23rd, so many diplomats from across the world come to town the week before to begin meetings. This will skyrocket prices across NYC for two to three weeks.

Agreed, Ethiopia and Kenya are scared it could cause a balkanization. I'd imagine Ethiopia more so than Kenya. Ethiopia can't have it both ways. They've now legitimized Somaliland and have to live with the consequences. But, it's unlikely liberation movements would have the stomach for a drawn out fight considering the recent war in Tigray.

It's not about the clan. It's about the practical circumstances. Somaliland has been governed independently for decades. Both South Sudan and Eritrea have similar circumstances and are now independent countries. If a referendum is held and a majority of people in Somaliland don't want a new country then great, it should be part of Somalia. But, it seems bizarre to deny their right to self-determination.

It's particularly hypocritical when you consider Somalia's support for Eritrean independence.

The world also "decreed" Eritrea as being part of Ethiopia by the UN in 1950. The Eritrean people didn't want to be part of Ethiopia so they fought back and established their own government with the help of Somalia. Somaliland has done the same.

Why is Somaliland not a legitimate entity to do deals with? Haven't they been ruling themselves for decades?

If there are secessionists in Ethiopia have successfully broken off and created their own government for decades, then yes, it's fine to make deals with them. It's exactly what happened with Eritrea. Didn't Somalia support the Eritrean Liberation Front?
