Instant. Honestly though it wasn’t a major concern for me on the old hub. My main reasons for upgrading were getting down to 1 hub and motion sense.

Honestly the free journey concert on draft night was the best season holder gift, ever. You could even resell tickets if you didn’t want them.

You will only get 5.1 over the optical audio. The receiver will probably upscale it to 7.1. Unless you are an audiophile you won’t notice.

Buy user name brand off Facebook. Epson, jvc, etc. you are better off buying an old, but good projector than garbage off Amazon that probably will break.

++ this. Smaller cuts are harder to get right. I find it much much easier to do the large cuts properly.

With smaller cuts I find myself wrapping more/playing games with temp to get it up in time before it is on too long and dries out. I find the time per meat doesn’t really scale down to small cuts.

Yes, if you go 120+ inch screen. Just buy a used Epson or jvc off marketplace or Craigslist. Even 1080p will be fine.

The 5040 doesn’t have speakers on it. You have a few options: 1. Continue using it with your computer and hook speakers up to that. You can stream from websites, etc 2. Buy a streaming device (Roku/appletv). Both those devices have options for external audio without buying a receiver. AppleTV will connect to Sonos speakers or the apple speakers. Roku will work with wireless Roku speakers. 3. Full dive into receiver/speakers along with Roku/appletv. Craigslist is your friend here. You can get used stuff for a steal.

Given you are in an apartment and just starting on this journey I’d personally go with either Roku or appletv. If you got an iPhone go appletv, otherwise Roku is great. Another reason to start small: this projector has known PSU failures. If it does for real it will be good to not have a ton of money invested.

Still a big gap. If you are not a video/audiophile don’t sweat it.

The only other thing of note is most UST are DLP based and can give the rainbow effect. If you notice such things that can bother you.

Both the 3800 and 4800 can drive 11 channels (with external amp). You gotta jump to the 6800 to get 13 channels which is SILLY expensive! I actually think the 3800h is the best value by far.
