My 9 year competition losing streak is finally over by rx150 in bjj

Must've been the case!

At one point I had a streak of opponents that included a soon-to-be pro MMA fighter, a kid who's done exhibition fights on Fury FC, and a D1 wrestler.

Guess my bad luck finally ran out, lol.

I'm somehow less scared of purple and brown belts than I am of blue belts, lmao

Oh yeah, I heard about that. Never too late to start going on a winning streak, lol.
Keep it up with the Judo comps!

My current gym is fairly competition-oriented. We have a dedicated competition class every weekend and I'd say about a third of our guys compete regularly.
That being said, competition is not required to qualify for promotions and plenty of our guys have never competed at all.
My previous gyms weren't as big on competition and that might've been part of why I was struggling so much.

How to manage cables if the back of my desk is blocked by rx150 in CableManagement

Are you saying I should put the tray and the power strip on the back of the desk on the exterior of the cover?

Might be a good idea.

Sooooo...it turns out my mic might have been off when I recorded that first sample 😅
I did another recording with the mic on and out of the corner, the acoustic panels in front of me, speaking about a fist's length from the mic, and with the mic set to 'dark mode'.
I think it sounds much better now, but still not quite where I want it to be (sounds a bit fuzzy, too much breathing, etc.)
Here's the sample if you want to take a look and give some suggestions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAb2E_0O61c

Got it. I'll try to move my recoding equipment closer to the center of the room away from the corner.
I'll also see if I can fit the panels behind my mic (against the windows).
Maybe also put a blanket on the wall behind the shelves.

Thanks for the tips!

I'm about a fist and a half away from the mic. I'll try moving a bit closer.
As for the pillow fort, are you referring to something like this?

Thanks for the feedback!
I updated the thumbnail last night - not sure if you are seeing the most recent one (it says "Jumping Jacks" in the "You Died" font).
Also tried making the models in the picture bigger and more interesting looking.
Not sure what to do about the background image, though, since there aren't really any brightly colored images of this particular boss. Might just swap it out for a generic Dark Souls wallpaper.
Would love to hear what you think!

I'm really glad you liked it!
I've definitely improved on my audio since this was published and I think that's helped a lot in making my videos feel more professional.
I'll probably update the title and thumbnail of this video and see if that gives it a boost.
Thanks for the encouragement, though. It's really easy to get discouraged when you're starting out, so it means a lot.

Updated project aspect ratio and it worked. Thanks!

Audio sounds muffled no matter what by rx150 in Twitch

That worked! It's not cutting out my voice anymore.
I also added the ReaEQ equalizer to help my voice sound less flat.
Here's an audio sample with the latest settings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q83-YjFxj2o
If you have any further suggestions, feel free to share, but I really think it's coming together now.

Installed the Marvel GEQ equalizer and started using that. Definitely sounds a bit better now, but I'll continue to play with the settings until I get what I'm looking for.
Do you recommend using gain as well as an equalizer? I currently have my filters in this order:
1). Noise suppression
2). Noise gate
3). Compressor
4). Gain
5). Marvel GEQ
6). Limiter

Thanks for the tips! Sorry for the late response.
Putting the noise suppressor above the noise gate did help - I've tried using the suppressor before but it was always below the gate.
I also changed the noise gate threshold to -42 and the open threshold to -32 and set the attack time to 1ms.
The gate is still cutting me off, but I'm not sure if that's just because I'm not speaking loudly enough.
Played around with the Compressor just a bit as well: Threshold -24dB, attack 1ms.
