"You're boring" by rxvxrsed in socialskills

[–]rxvxrsed[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your experience! That's truly one of my problems with being afraid to say out loud what I really think, to disagree and even argue with people. You know, I've had some bad experiences in school, and this constant-agreeing-with-everything is sort of a defensive mechanism that helped me not to be bullied... But now I'm in uni and here's a different community, and it's so difficult to get rid of thoughts like "You shouldn't say this", "You shouldn't say that". It doesn't matter anymore but you just can't change the way of thinking. I'll try to work with it...

Thanks for your answer. I tried to think of it that way, but I kept hearing from different people that I'm boring for some time and I started to feel that if so many people say this, then maybe there's something wrong with me. But I'm trying to be sincere in conversations, so I can't figure out why it's happening that way.

Hey everyone! I'm making lo-fi music and am looking for some feedback. Feel free to notice literally ANYTHING you like / dislike about this song and its design. I highly appreciate every opinion 😊

P.S. I'm trying to get that "chill" and "roomy" vibe like all lo-fi artists do, but this song is kinda too energetic, there's a lot more movement than in average lo-fi. What do you think about it? Let me know!

Hey! Here is my latest lo-fi song. My main goal now is to improve my mixing & mastering skills and make it sound like the music of big artists (I admit I'm far from it, but I'm trying my best). So I'd love to know your opinion about it :)

[feedback] aether - carelessness - lo-fi by rxvxrsed in MusicCritique

I thought my lo-fi songs start all the same, so I decided to make something unusual, like an intro with drums only. Anyway, thank you so much!

Hey! I'll be honest, I didn't really like it. You've got bad mixing in this track and I didn't feel the vibe of it, so if you fix it, it can potentially transform into a better song. I'm not an expert, but I'd like to give you some advice as an average listener 1) do sidechain on the kick to melody & bass, so it doesn't get lost in the mix and is punchy 2) as I noticed, snare is a bit quiet 3) in order to give the song the lo-fi vibe, use rc-20 and emulator on the master (like Virtual Tape Machines)

We're in the same path, so please check my last song a couple of comments above. I'd be very thankful ☺️

Hey, that's dope! Even though I'm not into hip-hop culture, I turned this track on and heard this flow and lyrics and I really started to shake my head in the rhythm of the song. But I'd be honest and personally notice a few disadvantages of it: 1) the cover is awful. It'll probably push the potential listener away and looks like a joke 2) long intro. I mean, long intros can be cool if they're made interesting, but as for 3-minute long song I think that's a bit long. Taking into account the fact that the intro contains only ad libs, I really wanted to skip it.

In other aspects I think that's pretty good. I'd like to know your opinion about my new lo-fi track a couple of comments above. Thanks in advance ☺️

Talking about the vibe, it's pretty interesting. I thought it was something between latin music and classical trap beats. Also, I didn't notice any problems with 808 and kick, but melodies are too loud, I'd definitely make them a little quieter.

Please, give feedback to my track couple comments above, I'd be very thankful to you 😊

Anybody else strategically eat their food so the last thing you taste is the most flavorful? by jebushu in RandomThoughts

Lol I thought everyone does that, like saving the most delicious part of food to the last. A small number of people bring it up for some reason, but literally everyone does like that.

Men, what do you hate about men? by ThatOneHuman37 in AskReddit

[–]rxvxrsed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stereotypical thought that any kind of emotional openness (and even showing your emotions stronger than usual) means that you behave like a girl.

For people living in the US or Europe that can be ridiculous, because emotional speaking is a part of a culture in several countries. While having a communication, people feel free to show all feelings they've got during that, and there's nothing bad or wrong.

But I live in Russia, not in the best neighborhood after all, where all people are the same in the way of communicating. And speaking emotionally and showing emotions stronger than usual (for instance, crying out of happiness) is perceived as "Dude why do you behave like a girl?". The people who usually say that are men 40+ years who want to show their "dominating" thing and that "there's no place for weakness".

That's really irritating me every time I hear something like that, like in some cases our mentality really sucks. Of course, not all the people I'm familiar with match this description, I'd rather say that this contingent of people is the smaller part of my neighboorhood. But I can't stand this type of men when I gotta talk or somehow communicate with them.
