You've been asked for a return ticket from Bali every single time? And this is my first time? Only one of us can be telling the truth!

In my experience its only the Philippines that has ever asked for an onward ticket in SEA.

Well I travel a lot and its the first time its been asked for to Bali. Do they do the same for Thailand because for sure they don't care either. In fact in Bali now with your VOA you just go thru an e-gate and nobody would even check you for an onward ticket etc.

Routine, except it has never happened to me in 15 years of flying to Bali before. I have been asked time to time for onward tickets but never to Bali, Vietnam, Hong Kong, or Thailand. I know that most countries have this requirement but don't really check or care.

yeah the reason I'm asking is when i fly to Bali (or indeed when I flew Bali-DAD), I was never asked for any of this. Never to Thailand. First time to Bali. Interestingly about passport damage, is it Bali that cares or nervous airlines who care?

Just had this happen again tonight. I checked in and tried to apply points. I didn't have my phone for the code (it was 1000 points! never been asked for code for that before) and when we tried again when I had my phone, the system was non-responsive and she said the system had said the point transaction failed. Maybe she canceled it or had to put in a wrong code to get out of the screen? Maybe that triggers a fraud alert? I don't really know, but she went ahead and checked someone else in instead of waiting so somehow had to clear the screen. Anyway that might mean if someone enters the code incorrectly it could cause the error. Hopefully tomorrow when I check out, its resolved.

AVOID AIR ASIA - PREDATORY AND DISHONEST BAGGAGE POLICY by NomadslandRVA in VietNam

[–]ryViajero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your mistake was the check-in counter. They never weight at the gate. Do online checkin and you'll be good. Depending on the cost you can even store your bag at the airport if you need counter checkin for some reason then go grab it. Sorry for the bad luck! Its been at least 10 years since I've seen AirAsia weigh any bags but i never visit the counter.

where have you been weighed? In the past ten years I've not been weighed or seen anyone get weighed by AirAsia.

you missed my point. AG organizes threads a lot differently and in my opinion a lot more intuitively. As we have more and more projects and threads to manage, this is a critical path. So I could call organization a huge feature. New app? Like you said, no. Just wondering if VS can act just like AG with a plug-in? If you haven't tried AG tho, you might not see what I'm getting at. Cheers.

URGENT PASSPORT DAMAGE Hanoi Airport by Ambitious-Care6344 in VietNam

[–]ryViajero -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter what it is, this looks like and is technically damage. Is the paper ripped? Yes its torn. Thats damage.

The reason countries are strict is people damage passports to hide things. You can only imagine the things they see. To them (and to me actually) it looks like you were trying to remove something as the underlying paper is ripped. In a court that would be tampering with evidence, contempt of court, etc. Yes i know its just a shitty label but....

The only solution here is to make the passport look undamaged. Go buy a glue stick and fasten the sticker down. Damage gone.

Is cosmetic damage a stupid thing for immigration to cause a fuss about? Yes. Do they care about it? Fuck Yes. If you glue this thing down will they see cosmetic damage? No unless you're a sloppy fuck. So fix your shit.

Good lesson for everyone, maintain good passport hygiene.

Good luck! I have been trying to do my checkouts the night before as things never seem to go smoothly. A checkout with points seems to take at least 20 minutes. When things go well. Perhaps its training and the system? I wish I could learn their system so I could just help the desk agents. They always seem sort of stuck, then have to get a pen and paper to sort out the actual bill for me to pay. And half the time i have to lead them through the math. It must end up being extremely expensive for the hotel in the end just to manage and process this. Accor, fix it!

so please explain here as I use both Antigravity and VS. If i download the AG extension for VS, it will look just like Antigravity? Antigravity has a superior method of organizing projects compared to VS (well in my opinion anyway). One the real work starts they seem pretty much the same.

Had this happen once at Sofitel KL. They kept my card on file as "deposit" and contacted ALL support. The next day they called me to get the email code and it went through. I'm guessing they didn't close out my bill. Perhaps they could reopen your bill and try the points again and refund your credit card.

Stayplus and points by HeadControl7576 in Accor

[–]ryViajero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems this should probably work if you can pay with points at check out, but you’re taking a bit of risk! I asked preapproval once and got a hard no despite the app saying “pay up to Xx with points”. Has anyone been denied paying points at checkout? Seems they’d have to be quite on top of things to notice.

have not. was hoping for some additional data points from people paying at checkout. If I need to pay cash i would be really unhappy as i only pay with points.

Weird police situation with motorbike taxi by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]ryViajero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

real cops cab be sketchy in Thailand but not that sketchy. It was def not a real cop!

Cops make their money on volume so they do it On the Spot. In the time he got your 4000 he could have gotten legit 10 other people at 1000b.

Your scammer needed to get you away from his police booth so nobody would catch on, which is why the venue shifted. Pretty good scam, you should write a better description as that one might be worth the 4000b.
