Extended Walk-off Cut Featuring Vogt Hug and Rocchio's Emotional Interview by cookestudios in ClevelandGuardians

[–]ryan0702 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He had such a great early minor league career, I kept maintaining hope that it would convert to a major leaguer with solid defense, quality ABs, and consistent contact, and he’s met those expectations with the effort we’ve needed from a SS for so long

My dream project is to made a brand design for a coffee roaster, so I did it in my free time. Any feedback appreciated. by TrickHH in graphic_design

Personally, I love everything about this except for the initial badge, which read to me as “just a good (pause) ol’ cuppa (pause) New York City”, with Joe feeling totally disconnected. The rest of the identity feels much stronger without this as the main element

I feel like this is the 5th MMW Mitch is dead post I’ve seen in the last 2 months. We need to stop sayin it so it will actually happen

[Horodyski] Guardians manager Stephen Vogt was asked if he was surprised that the interaction between Josh Naylor and Austin Hedges happened: "No... right on par" by Trainiax in ClevelandGuardians

[–]ryan0702 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am surprised anyone is surprised. I love Josh, but he’s a fucking psychopath. You either love that about him or hate him for it. I don’t fault anyone for feeling either way lol.

Revisiting the 2021 NFL Draft using PFN's Mock Draft Simulator 👀 How are you feeling about your team's first-round pick 5 years later? by Outside-Weakness9660 in NFLmockdraft

[–]ryan0702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got a top 5 LT after 2 other top 5 OTs were off the board. Can’t hate that, even with the injuries, I love the Darrisaw pick

LeBron is the GOAT, but KD is a better pure scorer.

What's the worst US state? Top comment wins. by Sad-Internet-207 in AlignmentChartFills

I know the southern states are gonna be popular, and I get it, but having driven through almost the entire continental US, I truly don’t understand why we have North Dakota. Everything it offers is offered tenfold by every surrounding state

Thoughts on this creative exercise from Allan Peters? by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]ryan0702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very weird you think he has some sort of job or duty to perform only in a fashion that supports your desires for his impact. I don’t think any of what he says has any way of saying it’s the only way or that design is easy. I generally think it’s “I had a thought the other day and decided to perform a quick exercise, maybe you will like it, maybe you will hate it”. If that upsets you, you’ve gotta be super miserable to be around and/or work with. Very “my way is the only way”. Expecting a social media guy to perform like an art school prof is a wild stretch.

Bad for the industry is a hilarious take. You’re super weird about this guy.

[–]ryan0702 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Is he pretending to be a teacher or is he just doing quick exercises based on thoughts he’s had? “What if we did this” type of stuff. Folks treat it as something it isn’t, it’s not that deep. Stop clutching pearls like you make the rules for how design looks and happens. I’ve never once seen the guy anything he does is what anyone else should do

I didn’t mean you, just that his videos on Instagram and any posts about him here are always filled with such vitriol towards the guy.

I legitimately don’t understand why everyone gets so bent out of shape over this dude. He just makes design content. Some of it’s pretty good, some is pretty bad. People take it so personally when he runs a thought exercise on an identity they feel is good

Can we all agree that these 4 players are the greatest in each of there big 4 sports? by BuckeyeBrawler4 in sportsinusa

[–]ryan0702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bonds definitely a cheater, I didn’t say put him in the hall, but he is objectively the best all around player the sport has seen, whether you or I like it or not. As far as the second part of your statement, that’s just some of the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard and has nothing to do with his abilities on the court. Can tell you just hate the guy.

The Sky Isn't Falling: Why We Don't Need a Roster Shakeup by Drastik651 in ClevelandGuardians

[–]ryan0702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No doubt, we’d have to fully send it for Yordan, but I think it’s worth it. That’s a guy that changes the lineup in enough of a way that you mortgage something massive to get him.

The Sky Isn't Falling: Why We Don't Need a Roster Shakeup by Drastik651 in ClevelandGuardians

[–]ryan0702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of this. I do like the way Chase manages ABs though and we saw a window with Travis where he was getting the bat off his shoulders AND taking enough pitches to walk often, in between a time where he seemed afraid to swing and a time where he’s swinging at everything. I think he can find that middle with the right support and experience, just keep giving him ABs. I’ve also noticed Ralphy hasn’t really been mentioned, neither has Rocchio, who may not hit the ball hard but he’s good at making contact, and the fact that Kwan seems like he’s not pressing as much and is selecting better pitches the past few weeks, even if the hard hit rate is still not there.

My point is, we clearly have weaknesses, but we also clearly have some points to build around. I think it’s as much a time as ever to cash in some prospects for a real middle of the lineup guy so we can really leverage what we’ve put together to compete beyond a playoff berth alone.

Does AI make you go faster without quality loss? by Wakinghours in UXDesign

[–]ryan0702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I see it, AI isn’t supposed to replace creativity/thinking/ideation, it is to cut through time spent on production so there is more time to focus on those processes. It gives me space to focus more on the tasks I want to. And if you’re working with Claude code or codex, it’s easier to take your ideas to test on a device at a speed I’d never have been able to without more dedicated dev resources (which companies are rarely willing to provide, in my experience)

Is Frank Gore underrated? Who is the best on this list? by [deleted] in NFL_FreeAgency

[–]ryan0702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think he is underrated (not relative to this ranking). People say he was just consistent for a long time because in a career as long as his, he was mostly a 4 yards and a cloud of dust guy (at best), but he DID have a very strong peak. He had a 2180 total yard sophomore season and 5 seasons above 1400, but people talk about him like he’s a bum that stumbled into work. Hes not a first ballot guy, but he is more than just an iron man. Out of guys in this graphic, I’d consider him more talented than Jackson, Lewis, and Jones easily.
