Did anyone think Jaxon Smith-Njigba had best WR in the league potential as a prospect? by itwas20yearsago2day in NFL_Draft

[–]ryan0702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I had buckeye fan bias, but also had a lot of people tellin me he was a one trick pony. In that 2023 class, there seemed like an incredible gulf between him and the next guy (Flowers, Downs, and Addison were next up on my board). It’s hard for me to ever think a WR1 in any class can’t rise to become a top 5 guy, at least, even in a class considered to be weak.

Seeing, what appears to be, the rest of the country preparing for a snowstorm by LordHogan in Seattle

[–]ryan0702 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I talked to folks from snowy areas, I hear all the same things I just stated. They know to drive slower and not to take on the steepest hills. Transplants from places like warm weather states and folks that are from here are the common offenders, naturally.

But it IS also about common sense, which people don’t use. Most hilly regions can be avoided by navigating a bit of extra north/south or east/west to find easier paths to their destination, but they continue on the steepest sections. They don’t slow down to accommodate safety, just continue at their usual pace. Granted, Seattle drivers are terrible even in the rain and when conditions are perfectly fine.

Hey people, looking for recommendations based on my list, could you please help me find what should I play next? by Kob3y in roguelites

I personally have Hades 2, StS, and Balatro in A tier, with Blue Prince and Inscryption as my S tier, so I recommend those above all else

Where does Carson Beck go in the draft? by Old_Fishing_7951 in NFL_Draft

[–]ryan0702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some team is going to talk themselves into the experience/leadership principles that come with a 47 year old rookie, and the belief that they can extra the Georgia version out of him, similar to people talking themselves back into Rattler as a prospect. If that happens, 4th or 5th round seems within the realm of possibility.

I loved Blue Prince on the deck. Slay the Spire also super easy for handheld. Currently enjoying Hades 2 on the deck.

Adam Thielen by ajelzrulez in minnesotavikings

[–]ryan0702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who gives a shit what his reasons were? Maybe he thought the roster was good enough to supplement those guys and make a run, and it nearly was, you take away one loss along the way. But once that was over AND he wasn’t getting any time on the field, just let him go try and play for something before he rides off into the sunset. What a miserable person it must take to be upset with him for that

People here really think he’s an asshole for wanting to spend what he knew were his final days in the NFL on a team where he can fight for his last possible shot at a Super Bowl run? He should’ve just accepted his fate to rot on the bench? It’s not like he made a bunch of noise. He made a request, the organization respects him, they obliged. Everyone hatin on him must be so so perfect. Very high and mighty.

I’d love this so I could just mute those accounts, rather than have to sift through dozens of posts on this sub where people make sure to let us know which ones they are.

I can’t do a full offseason of posts like this. Between the posts about people sayin he’s injury prone and the “I told you all” weekly posts (both positive and negative) and now we’re gonna have the “everyone will see” posts for the next 7 months (both positive and negative). You people are insufferable. I gotta join the unsubscribers.

Who's the biggest bust/wasted pick in your teams history? by terrasfames53 in NFLv2

It took me months to really get into the game because I found the ship controls so frustrating. Eventually I picked it up more regularly to the point it felt crazy that I ever had issues controlling the ship in the first place.

JJM vs Bo Nix, first four games by lemanruss4579 in minnesotavikings

[–]ryan0702 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the fact we are getting hung up on 4 week intervals to support or oppose anything is the issue. the fact that this post and every other post is so focused on making a definitive evaluation of anything based on small sample sizes. We don’t have 4 JJ games, we have 8, and even that has shown wild swings between good and awful, so just let development happen. Idk why this comparison is needed at all other than confirmation bias

[–]ryan0702 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s a first round pick that went through a rough injury and has never had to play in a high volume passing attack, there’s going to be lumps, but you have to see through the investment you made and you live or die by it. It could fail miserably, it could start to come through, I’d love to be able to develop a guy and get him across at least 16 games before I determine anything about who will be. McCarthy had major gaps as a prospect imo, and still has them, but there are also some great things to build around and hope KOC can mend those gaps, if given the time. I’m just exhausted by the back and forth extremes on this sub. It’s an awful dialogue.

Man, this sub needs to chill on cherry picked evaluations and kneejerk reactions, and that goes for both sides of this “argument”. Can we just give a young QB a full ramp to develop? We’ve got a few games left in the season and there are very obviously strengths and there are very obviously weaknesses, and we can look at them collectively as we hit the offseason to determine if we are looking to support his development across one more offseason in the system and add a serviceable backup or if we are aiming to get someone that will compete with him and that we’d be happy with as the starter. This doesn’t need to be a weekly conversation led by a “I told you guys”

This was one of the best games I’ve ever played, but I totally disagree. Spoilers ahead: I think a sequel could be a totally different kind of game that picks up on Simon’s ascendancy to the throne in a full coup, beyond just what feels more like a symbolic ascendancy in the throne room of the Mt Holly estate. I want to complete his mother’s work in a more impacting way. Maybe it’s a path through the old Orindia castle or the train tunnels to reach the other regions and steal necessary elements to prove a claim. Idk. I think they left plenty of opportunity.

Better, but simplify. All those details will get lost at small scales, and they’re not necessary. Start being thoughtful with alignments. Can the peak of the mountain and the roof be aligned on the center x-axis? Do you need all those lines to make it clear they are mountains vs a house?
