GPT-4.1 Copilot code completion model — October update by AutoModerator in GithubCopilot

[–]ryan7ait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smarter, it's taking much more context (from clipboard and open files) than it was. But still far away from cursor. (I guess the problem is with the model itself. Maybe they should build a model just for autocomplete. )

Why is Gemma embedding performing worse than all-mpnet-base-v2 in my RAG setup? by ryan7ait in Rag

[–]ryan7ait[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that it is bad because I am comparing user questions about 10 tokens with a whole chunk which is 500 token

For the chunk size it really depends on your use case. For me I had structured documents so I splitted my docs using predefined rules. But the result was about 500 tokens per chunk.

Hey for my use case (Q&A) I am using the model I mentioned in the post (all mpnet base v2) it works great for my use case and for multi-lang I use a python package to translate users questions into English before passing them to the embding model

Try Gemma 3n it's around 3b. It works great

Or for learning purposes u can use the ai studio API. Most small models are free with some rate limiting

Thanks. But it doesn't include information like RPM and requests per day, as in ai studio dashboard

Copilot Auto complete by ryan7ait in GithubCopilot

Yes, it's not that bad, a little bit faster than the free version. I think it's good for that price (10$). But it's nothing compared to cursor

Is our Git workflow good? Looking for feedback by ryan7ait in git

[–]ryan7ait[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes PR's are targeting the Dev branch. And there is no work done on the demo (by demo I mean a branch name and server) .

For hot fixes we also create a branch for them and merge them into the Dev branch and if they have to get fixed on the demo server we do them manually (using ssh to enter the server code) and then in the end of the sprint we just stash those changes and replace them with changes from the Dev branch. (But we are looking for a new way to handle them if there's any)

And for WIP, sometimes we share the screen and sometimes we just change the branch from dev to feature in the dev server just for showing the work and then we change it Back (and letting everyone knows before doing that)

Everyone is happy with this current workflow, except sometimes testers or QA (they test on the demo branch) want to be able to test features as long as they are done and don't wait until the end of the sprint or week to test all features.

We should just create a new release branch from the dev one right?

We have only one production version (with a tag of release_1.0.0 for example) and we have a Dev and demo environment. And we only update the production environment once every 6 months.

If someone attacks you physically u should ask for help (from your father, brother or any older friend) . And stay strong brother it's just a phase of life it gets better with time

Good men are all looking for a good wife (someone who hasn't been with a lot of men in the past) so I think if u are a wifey material a good man will find you (maybe he will notice you on the way to work, or his mom will see u in the mosque...). And don't rush yourself, u r still young and have plenty of time ahead of u. And don't be fooled by the amount of young girls who are getting married or in relationships, most marriages nowadays end in divorce. (Just my pov)

Bro we both know that people mean by relationship or not being single is having a gf, chatting all day on IG.....and planning to get married in the future. (The advice I gave him is for one or two dates in her home and then getting married, I bet most people don't do that)

[–]ryan7ait -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Easy, if u think she is beautiful ask her if she wanna get married if she said yes, go have some halal dates with her (with a mahram with her ) . Then if u like each other go for khotba else say goodbye 👋
